Round 13: the Crystal Pepsi games.

Yes, both close ones were determined at the end - again - today by umpiring interventions. Frees that created the match-winning goals were IMO from dubious umpiring interventions: Sicily played on attempting to gain distance by swinging out for a long shot at goal to win. Green caught him with a hard bump as he kicked it; proven by how the kick went so askew (from the consistent length and quality of Sicily) out on the full. What is he meant to do? Give him a high-5 as he runs by!?
Yeo lays a fierce tackle on Norf player to prevent a match-winning goal; almost high but just OK. But he wasn't pinged for that. Ball burst out and falls into his lap as he falls over with the tackle. Then another Norf guy buries him so ump pings him HTB with absolutely no prior. That determined this match. Norf got another subsequent goal but WCE's chance was gone following that crap decision.

It's just the BS legacy of the Gil and Shocking era. In a billion $$ industry football code, where equalisation has levelled up the comp, we are paying good money to watch little men in green determine results ... so often. I understand fully about the major issue of concussion which holds a threatening sword over the game's future and support protecting the head (if only it included our players too, or Toby Greene), but neither tackle nor bump was high.

In my view, neither of those frees would have been paid in the context of the history or tradition of the game. (Sheesh, in times past, like numerous big finals, we know umps would lose the whistle!!)

It's just a victory for SOFT. It's BS.
'Little men in green' :mhihi

Reminds me of that outer space Bugs Bunny character...what'shisname.

Too many goals scored from dubious free kicks and it’s killing the game. We’re confused, so imagine the players?

I'd still love to have Butts back. "Former premiership Tiger" sounds better than Aints forward....

nah, made the play, tackled the guy (who had fallen on the ball) got it off him, then tackled immediately. See it 100 times a game not paid
So just tell me where was the prior? Surely you cannot be talking in milliseconds, if he he had hands the speed of Superman!? (if we are talking about Yeo decision here?).

This Aints team still relies on Richmond energy to kick goals. Butts and Higgo kicked 5 of their 6.

Bloody west coast. They want a bit of the pick 1 and 2 action I see.
Stop worrying everyone. Remember last time we had pick 3 ... and Smelbourne had 1 & 2? Next week's game should be a reminder if you can't. In other words - it's not which top pick you have, but who you select!

Gold Coast King is leading the Coleman on 37 goals. Agree on Saints King.
They’re both pretend Richos. Flat track bully forwards. With 18 clubs and all the injuries coming because it’s played at such a high speed the talent is very thin and these types can etch out some good games.

The commentators have no idea what the frees are for.

Wish we had one of these key forward types that can etch out some good games

Ben's obviously better than Max. The Aints got the wrong one.

Need teams above us to have a 2-3 game buffer.

Tigers will win another half dozen games possibly.

Could end up ruining our already ruined season even more by ending up with pick 5 6, instead of 2. and missing the top top tier Mids, such as FOS, Smille, Jagga etc.
No way, highly unlikely. We have just beaten a weakened Crows assisted by getting a couple of key players back ourselves. I seriously doubt we will win more than 1 or 2 more, perhaps Norf but no cert, and if another team decides to tank against a strengthened Tigers team.

Interesting the Crows last Thurs night. Nicks seems to have battled to explain dropping O'Brien. Who would have beaten or matched Nank who was a major influence on ensuring we weren't at CLRs. I'm certain Crows would have had many more HOTA if he played. No Crouch and Walker too. They even took the replacement ruckman off in Q3 I think. Injured? Not sure. All seems a bit odd.

A bit of their own tanking for higher picks now their year is done?
