People need to look at Moores reaction after he went knee first into Petracca’s side, bringing him down with a brutal thud.

Moore looks at the carnage he’s created and walks quickly away from the scene no doubt satisfied with taking out the one Melbourne player who up until then was the clear difference between the two sides.

Taking players out has been part of football since day one and that was clearly taking the best player out of the game by Moore.

I’m disappointed Melbourne didn’t knock his block off later in the game in response, and Moore deserved it.

Meh. Knees up in marking or spoiling or rucking contests has always been an understood and acceptable part of the game. Must be time for another rule change to protect the players from themselves and the AFL from a work cover claim again.

Moore looks at the ball the whole time and wouldn't have known who in the pack he was going to crunch into.

The conspiracy theorising here is OTT sometimes.

Is this really the standard protocol?

"Like anything with a broken rib or a cracked rib, you get some pain relief and see how you can go on," Goodwin said.

"That's the standard process with working through these types of injuries..."

Just not acceptable. You could see when it happened that something was seriously wrong with Petracca. I was gobsmacked when he came back on, just total negligence from MFC

He was clearly in pain when he came back on. It's a pretty obvious cue that somethings not right. They can't jab your spleen.

It’s obviously Melbourne’s standard protocol.

Lacerations to lung and spleen...that's internal bleeding. They are lucky he didn't collapse on the field. What a bunch of cowboy doctors.
Absolute negligence.

From what I've seen some Demons supporters say this is probably largely on Goodwin. He has form in terms of forcing players back on the ground when they shouldn't have been including Brayshaw before he retired.

This is a debacle. Petracca coming out and saying he made the decision to play on, to defend club staff. Thats admirable from him, but I'm skeptical if that was actually the case, and even if it was the case, its irrelevant. Thats why there are docs and trainers and coaches. And meanwhile the AFL tick it all off? WTF is going on there? This would be a debacle if he had been able to conceal the pain, but it was obvious to anyone he was in agony.

Head is sacrosanct, but the lungs, spleen, pancreas, kidneys are all fair game apparently. Unbelievable.

Someone on that medical team should be thanking their lucky stars he never copped another hit when he went back on. Could have ended in grave disaster.
