I hope you’re right, but they’ve got a lot of AFL support as well as money to have a good crack. I really think this is their best chance in the next 5-6 years as Dimma has a good team behind him and a *smile* load of talent. Their only problem is do they have tat X factor game breaker like a Dusty, Franklin, Carey etc.? ATM I believe they don’t, but heavens knows what’s waiting for them in their Academy.
GWS showed in 2019 what a GF is like to them and no GC team has barely shown success, even in basketball. For northern states success, only Sydney have the strength to win a GF as they still live off the old South Melb days and have a big supporter base....but what happened in 2022??

I can't see it happening if it's gonna be at the G for the next 100 years. Only WA, SA and Vic teams can do it IMO. In fact the Tassie team would get one before the Huns.

Interesting WCE had their last 3 MSD recruits playing today: Culley, Maric & Hutchinson, all Victorians too.

How hopeless are these 2 sides .
Even with our non existent forward line we would be well ahead of both of them

I assume the roof is open and there is torrential rain at Marvel looking at the scores?

Haven’t watched any footy since Thursday night. Turned on the saints v suns game and lasted 20 minutes of the 1st quarter, then turned it back on during the 2nd to see if it had improved

It hadn’t. What a terrible spectacle, horrible football.

Many of the most boring games of the last 20 years have featured Ross Lyon coached teams. Such a negative coach

Typical Ross games as they’re low scoring tussles. Dimma is falling into his trap and coaching his team similarly. Boring *smile*.

It was a terrible game to watch. Shocking skills. Turnovers and staging for frees galore.

Football has become like football (soccer). Just endless staging and softo free after softo free.
Yes, both close ones were determined at the end - again - today by umpiring interventions. Frees that created the match-winning goals were IMO from dubious umpiring interventions: Sicily played on attempting to gain distance by swinging out for a long shot at goal to win. Green caught him with a hard bump as he kicked it; proven by how the kick went so askew (from the consistent length and quality of Sicily) out on the full. What is he meant to do? Give him a high-5 as he runs by!?
Yeo lays a fierce tackle on Norf player to prevent a match-winning goal; almost high but just OK. But he wasn't pinged for that. Ball burst out and falls into his lap as he falls over with the tackle. Then another Norf guy buries him so ump pings him HTB with absolutely no prior. That determined this match. Norf got another subsequent goal but WCE's chance was gone following that crap decision.

It's just the BS legacy of the Gil and Shocking era. In a billion $$ industry football code, where equalisation has levelled up the comp, we are paying good money to watch little men in green determine results ... so often. I understand fully about the major issue of concussion which holds a threatening sword over the game's future and support protecting the head (if only it included our players too, or Toby Greene), but neither tackle nor bump was high.

In my view, neither of those frees would have been paid in the context of the history or tradition of the game. (Sheesh, in times past, like numerous big finals, we know umps would lose the whistle!!)

It's just a victory for SOFT. It's BS.

Northtankers know how to win when it suits them
They can win this one, still be on the bottom of the ladder and not lose #1 draft pick
Except forgot in the win against WCE (was it?) that cost them wonderboy Reid?

Every away game against Vic teams is at the Dump except us in final round at the G. Dimma better start loving the Dump.

Suns are still the Suns.

Dimma hasn’t changed them.
