Good game so far. Players seem to be getting rid of it quicker leading to less congestion. Signs good early for the rule tweak.
Umpiring generally *smile* as usual, but yes some positive signs, from a very low base, that that particular farce of players being endlessly spun with no HTB call seems to be better. A couple of good ones early.

Polar opposite call so far, insuficient intent, Carlton player kicks straight OOB perpendicular to goals given benefit of doubt for skill error, Allir does exactly the same thing and penalised.

Geez Allir is a panic merchant. The mind boggles how he'd be in a big close final.

The Port talls are terrible.

Marshall kicks a bag last week on easy lead ups v Norf but when the going gets tough and there’s a contested mark required, he’s nowhere to be seen.

I'd take McKay, Curnow and Wietering over Marshall, Georgio Meroder/ Dixon and Allir every day of the week.

Hmm. Just switched it on. Just saw Horne Francis take a mark and the carlscum player do exactly what Rioli did a few weeks ago against the lions that resulted in a 50. This time? Nothing

Seems if you're spun 360 and hold on to the ball you're penalised, but if you drop it its play on?

Not sure there’s another sport in the world where the rules and the officiating of them is so fickle.
