Round 1 (2022) - other games

Alistair Nicholsom is a great pick up for Channel 7. And he does research which will confuse many of his fellow commentators.

I’ve seen some many players move off the mark with no play on whistle. Has the rule changed again?

God Luke Darcy is unlistenable.

Channel 7 are woeful.

Just showed the PA cheer squad. .... the gene pool doesn't appear to have been overstretched on first viewing!

Bad decision when Houston kicked for goal at just over 2 mins left. Kicked point but player on mark was moving everywhere. Would be 50 against Richmond.

I just laughed....seriously stupid.

What about the three prior that weren't paid?
Yep, waiting for the real truth according to TBR.

Ultimately it’s an interpretive rule applied differently by different umpires. Like almost every rule in the AFL rule book.

Cam Rayner - overrated. Not a mid, not a forward. Just a plodder.

The Butters one I would have paid as deliberate. The umpire must have decided it was involuntary because he fell over but I'm not so sure.

I saw another one against McCluggage that was right as well. Didn't see the Wines one, what part of the quarter and I'll have a look?

There was what I thought was a pretty clear one not paid in the Geelong game. 3rd quarter I think (Bombers were kicking to the city end), ball was in dispute in Geelongs D50, ball on the ground, Geelong defender kicks it off the ground, it went directly towards the line (not like Steeles on Friday where he tried to bend it to keep it in but the bounce of the ball didn't benefit him), no Geelong player within about 15m of where the ball went. Called as a throw in.

Agree, doesn't kick enough goals to be a forward (or put enough pressure on), doesn't get enough of the ball to be a mid. A really poor Pick 1 IMO.
