In deep discussions with the Deees

If true, I am not suprised.

While he hasn't won a flag, he has certainly be good at both Sydney and the Bulldogs with developing the talent available.

Exactly what the Demons need.

Would have thought he and the Dees were an amazingly good fit - not sure why they would take so long.

Clarkson,Malthouse & Lyon.dees should grab Eade, would be good for them.

Don't reckon Eade is as good a fit as others seem to think, but Melbourne needs a coach who knows the ropes. If Eade's the best of those available, so be it.

G.Lyon has already made public comments questioning whether the game has gone past Eade tactically. Might be hard for him to compromise such a firmly held belief.

Eade and Melbourne are a perfect match for each other. He has already taken two mid-range teams and boosted them into finals for an extended period. It looks to me like he has no stomach for rebuilds but is quite happy to take a young group and get the most out of them.

Given that the Boys' Club is back in charge of Melbourne though, I expect Garry Lyon to search far and wide, look in every nook and cranny, turn every stone over, exhaust every lead, follow up every expression of interest and then appoint one of his mates, probably Toddles.

Not sure Gary would know one way or the other. Eade would have a far greater grasp of tactics that T Viney.

And a greater grasp than Gary.

Easy for commentators like say Brereton and Lyon, who so many have said should be coaching, to sit in the luxury of the commentary box and say so and so should do this and that, compared to being in the hot seat calling the shots.

Agree. And not sure how Lyon can qualify his criticism of a coach with Eade's experience when he has never coached himself and with the dogs only dropping out of the eight this year.

Seems odd that always a bunch of non coaches appoint a coach.

In relation to that I was reading an old report from Cameron today and note that Lindsay Gaze, Australian basketball coaching legend, was involved in stage one of our coaching selection process in 2009.
