Richmond 2017 AFL Premiers

Watched the qualifier against the Moggies again yesterday, probably my favourite game of the three finals. Moggies monkey finally off the back n also the realisation that if we brought that game for two more weeks we were good enough to go all the way.
Still get nervous every time those bastards catch up n level the scores though.

I love the reaction from Catman when Taylor misses the goal at the end of the 1st quarter.

Priceless isn't it.
If that's not a case of "harden the f**k up" I don't know what is. The guy would have seen 3 flags.

it was the cats game down in Geelong that was the first time I actually believed (probably in my entire life), which also happened to be on my birthday. everything went wrong that day. Danger beat Dusty. Taylor beat Rance. Caddy did his hamstring early. We couldn't get our manic pressure game going. the umpires absolutely reamed us. yet we were in the game all day and only lost by 14 points.

yeah, that was a loss that I wasn't shattered with.

That is my favourite final too. The best play was the shot at goal by Zach Guthrie in the third that would have put them in front. Somehow he missed. I know he is only a young kid and does not deserve to be potted for one miss, but that was a telling moment in the game. Normally, Richmond is the team that misses the opportunity through an inept kick at goal. How many times have we seen that over the last 25 years?

They were comprehensively outplayed from that moment.

Watching that collision between Bellis and Danger... i'm amazed Danger got up so quickly and didn't carry on like he usually does when he cops a hit.

Yes had the same thought. Geelong red hot that day against us not able to get anything going.

The possession chain that lead to our second goal of the third quarter involved a gazillion pressure acts that rolled from the wing, across the half back line, forwards across the other wing, across the forward flanks to a scrambled goal. It’s one of my favourite plays of the year. Pure scrap and effort.

Walked past a line-up of Crows players this morning at the Virgin bag-drop terminal at Melbourne airport this morning on my return flight to Sydney. Interestingly enough they were actually moving at the time (unlike in the GF). Was wearing an old Tiger Army t-shirt and a few of them had two looks at it as I walked past. I wish I'd taken the opportunity to say G'day to Eddie Betts who would be my favourite non-Tiges player.

And still premiers!!!!!!!!!

It looks like the Bulldogs weren't having a premiership hangover after all.

no. Looks like they are still spewing in the gutter.

Bulldogs just aren’t that good. Teams are starting this year similar to form from last year .... it’s a long season and all I want is for us to hit the finals in form again

anyone else snap up a pair of premiership Puma suedes?

I couldnt type my credit card numbers in fast enough. ;D

I think you are right. They won the premiership based on intense pressure and their midfield was that good. Their defence and forward line wasn't actually that great. For us, our defence ios probably our strongest area which protects the rest and keeps us in games instead of getting blown away (bar Adelaide and St Kilda last year).
