Richmond 2017 AFL Premiers

As silly as it sounds , it’s probably the least excited I’ve been a week out from round 1 in my life, again jobs done and for me nothing will ever compare to September 30 5:13 pm.

been an amazing 6 months alright.

see Cotchys misses said hes totally unfazed by anything since the flag?

Im the same. Couldnt give a stuff about anything. Im wearing a premiership flag (and a danny rioli badge) as a life-proof vest.

But Ive never been more excited for round 1 ever.

I'm dreaming of us crushing everyone, everyone hating us, us laughing and dancing through Richmond like we own the town again.

And it’s this attitude I’m expecting/hoping the team has too. Done by 6 goals at 3/4 time? Yep, we can do it. Missing Rance and Riewoldt? Not a drama, we can do it.

I’m hoping this premiership creates a “dynasty” and we maintain this success.

It’s 31 weeks since we lost a game.

It's usually the other way round. It's unbelievable that we are now the team to beat.
Losing is unacceptable
Where Winning is now just accepted

Was thinking last night about the "mindfullness" stuff, which is accepted as key.

It's like the players were looking at themselves and the world in sepia - no clear definition, pale illustrations of real life
They've now passed (last season) the point of seeing themselves in sharply focused black and white - who they are and how they appear to others.
The premiership gave them a splash of colour - a brilliant sign of true enjoyment and glory.
This season they will step forward into a technicolour personal view of the world - full and rich with all the ups and downs.

The boys might just have captured the ultimate goal - enjoy the moment.
Then work hard to do it again.

If they can each capture an ultimate goal a week, we should go undefeated with an unprecedented %

So much better than coaches telling players not to get too excited after a win...we've got more work to do next week. Where's the trust in that approach? Fantastic that the players are trusted to be mature enough to enjoy the moment then back to work on Monday morning. No wonder they love playing for our club.

There’s so many little things you pick up watching the finals series over an over. One of my favourite bits I just watched again is after Dusty Dusty Dusty kicks the sealer at the start of the last quarter in the Prelim and the vision goes into slow mo as Dusty celebrates with the “cmon” and in the background I think it Grines an Edwards embracing, but most symbolic is there in the distance is the Rance walking back towards full back with no fuss, simply heading back to get th3 job done again. I think might have to try and turn that into a pic for the wall.

Couple of minutes later how’s the mighty roar for the Captain as he heads of for a breather.

Still so bloody surreal

You seriously could not love a team more, yep we have our superstars and it’s impossible not to leave your worldly possessions to them in your will, however as I’ve said previously so many great battler type stories , just an amazing unit/ team even the boys who it doesn’t come naturally to put there head over the pill , never shirked an issue the entire finals series. In a modern game where forward pressure is huge ( not new , remember Aaron Davey) we have the 3 best in the business an 2 of them are not the most gifted footballers but with every error they make they’ll be 10huge pressure acts coming our way. Has there ever been a harder working genuine tough back half, what a brilliant unit they are, has to be the most dangerous line to play in the AFL as everyone of them comes so hard to help there team mates out. Again as individuals there a bunch of fringies, not up to its, injury prones with a couple of guns , however as a team there one of the greatest units the AFL has seen

When Towner body slammed Crouch over the boundary line and then held him down with his forearm, i noticed later on that Towner got in is face and i bet he said their's more of that where it came from, or words to that effect :clap :clap :clap :clap

Good post mate.
I watched it again yeasterday. Slightly nervous at 3 qtr time ;D
Gee they were magnificent. :clap
I have to say each time I watch it Lambert gets better and better for the experience. The GF I watched yesterday he was simply magnificent with his hard running and link up play. What a gem and to think he was under the blue brown paper baggers noses. Some retribution for Yarran and Hampson.

:hihi bloody amazing mate how we still get nervous watching a replay.

His just a ripper footballer is Lambert isn’t he

I watched the first half again last night. I wouldn't like to think what might of been if Rance wasn't playing. He was like a brick wall.

I also picked up on a good comment by Carey just before the boys were walking out. Someone asked him about the pressure on Dusty, and he said Dusty was going so well he wouldn't notice. He then went on to say the real pressure will be on Cotch and Walker as captains. It was a pretty good call.

You need to watch the 2nd half this morning Shad. I won't tell you the result otherwise it might spoil it for you. ;D
But it's a great way to start the day.

Had the Norm Smith in the bag in the first half, ball just didn't go anywhere near him in the second half, and that's the only thing that cost him a Norm Smith.

Lambert often plays well against the Blues and admitted that he does like to remind them of what they missed out on.
