On another note, has any experienced player ever done as many very dumb undisciplined things in one game as Graham did tonight? It was amazing
Agree he did but we need to realise his type are done. The game has changed dramatically in 2 years. For all his great efforts he also adds momentum swings with his child like disposal which are crucial in todays game.
I'm staggered we only lost the centre clearance 14-12. It felt far worse. As for the tackle count inside 50...

Why are players being played out of position?
IMHO Rioli isn’t a HBF and should be played in the forward line
Ross isn’t a winger it’s as an inside mid or nothing
Balta is being thrown around everywhere with 2 rucks why put Balta in the ruck? Balta has been training with the forwards all preseason stick with it
FAarts isn’t AFL standard the VFL is where he belongs
We we’re getting slaughtered at centre clearances and Dusty is playing forward Why?
So many stars of yesteryear looked like the game had gone past them (Cotchin,Riewoldt, Edwards)

We were too busy rushing to debut a backman when we already had enough anyway
Yeh Graham was horrible but I can not longer take watching George make basic skill errors at crucial moments. Admittedly so did Rioli and aarts and a few other senior players.

and others also ....... plenty went missing when needed tonight, I mean, the game was ours when Shai kicked that one to start the last Q, its the way that they seriously just capitulated for NO apparent reason that is the major concern here. When you are up by 20 pts and there's 20 odd minutes to play, the last thing you'd be expecting to happen is to LOSE by 25 !!! That's total headcase stuff as far as I'm concerned.
It’s round 1 and it is easy to get carried away but I have been fearing a drop off. Yes we had injuries but we were nowhere in the 2nd half of last year and the reality is that players get old and often when they do they fall off a form cliff pretty quickly.
2022 was always going to be a regeneration year to me. We need to find out whether the young guys RCD, Dow, Ralphsmith, Stack, Ross etc are going to make it and the only way to do that is play them.

Stats say it all. Got murdered everywhere especially the ruck contests. Gibcus just not ready for the hurly burley of AFL. Few oldies including Cotch,Titch, better start thinking of starting on the bench. Tarrant well must have thought he was still at LoL Norf. 48 frees for the game with the wokey pussy rules. The stand rules OMG LOL.
Agree re Rioli at HB, said it months ago - we are not playing players to their strengths. Just as Stack isnt a forward.
Spot on . Centre clearances looked woeful at the ground tonight. First use to McGoos seemed obvious.
