One has actually played the game, the other one was at the optometrist getting nerd glasses fitted.

Whateley really, I don't know why anyone would put any credence on anything he says regarding the game. I doubt he'd ever the one to get the hard ball.

If it is upheld then the only solution to not risk suspension in a hot 50:50 ball is to not contest it until you are at low speed.

I thought I saw that happen last night where both players slowed down completely.

This may be looked back on in years to come as a watershed moment for the AFL. What were Mansell's choices ? He couldn't tackle because Aish doesn't have the ball. If he pulls out of the contest he looks soft and cops the criticism of the AFL world, gets dropped and possibly doesn't play again and may even be delisted.

Yet he has a duty of care not to bump high that may cause injury. The implications of this decision may change football forever. Players will have to seriously consider pulling out of contests.

I think the AFL want this one to go away as quickly as possible. This will be a rubber stamp of Tuesday night. They're already warming up the pies.

likely imo

Yes, it is BS, Rhyan would have been first to the ball if it had not landed on its point and bounced backwards towards Aish. Tracking the ball.

Yep it stands. 3 matches.

The implications are immense. The ripple effect of this will be amazing now.

To do what RM did, contest the ball at full pace and fiercely will now get you a week if you hurt someone. Three weeks if their headband flies off dramatically.

To me there were a lot of similarities in the Tom Lynch case that was overturned. Lynch braces for impact at the very last moment when he knew body contact was inevitable.

Intent doesn't matter anymore, it's the result of the collision ie if it ends in a concussion, you're gone.

I knew the outcome as soon as the tribunal chairman was more concerned about his pie warmer than concentration on the evidence before him. They probably had a couple of rounds of Uno to kill time.

Football as we know it, is dead.
Players need to second guess every contact and collision now.

Feel for Rhyan. Young fella playing for his future, doing everything he can to win a bouncing ball fairly.

Hope the pies burn the roofs off your collective AFL mouths, you bastards
