TBF he missed those games after being crunched by the Buddy Monster in a late and dubious tackle that would have the same impact on virtually any other player. Don't see how Conca is to blame for that. His team-mates at the time knew it.

Reminds me of the Matt White debate. Would have been fine with him staying but if Freo is offering what's been mentioned he would be crazy to pass it up.

It’s been said we offered 2 years, I’m a bit pissed with Conca walking for a longer deal, he certainly came out in front with his time at the Tiges

Yeah I can see that side. The club stood by him during the hard times and the first time a decent offer comes in, he takes it. I would too mind you. It's a business now. Someone else said it before, it's Matty White all over again. But I get it, loyalty both ways is just about dead. That's why I'll never begrudge Dustin Martin's contract, he left money on the table to stay at Richmond. Same with Jack, Alex and Trent. Leaders lead.

He may have also seen the risk that he becomes the next Miles, continually the bridesmaid playing VFL every week.

A breakout year? After 8 years on our list? Now that would be an unlucky break for us. Hawks were hoping the same with Vickery after 8 years on the Tigers list.

Let's not be too harsh, we don;t know what was discussed behind closed doors. Maybe the Tigers told him he wouldn't be guaranteed game time next year and encouraged him to take a 4 year deal? You can't begrudge a guy with a lot of past injuries taking a 4 year deal.

Matt White, oh please! He took over the title of "Worst Decision Maker" from Biddiscombe. Our team improved simply by the fact that he wasn't in it.

The difference between him and Conca is that Conca will have an uninterrupted pre-season and have his best year in 2019.

Regrettably it will be wearing purple and green

Good luck to him if he does but 4 years for an injury prone player just outside our best 20 players is not a smart thing to do

I wonder if those who labelled Whitey a “mercenary” etc are going to label Conca the same?

Unlike when White left we were struggling and, as bizarre as it sounds, he was one of our better players.

Personally I wont be hating him but I wont be wishing him well when we play them.
