They do, does anyone recall the flying start to the season that they had that season, they were bull at a gate hard fast gun and run and were beating all comers.

Jobe won the Brownlow.

Jobe, what a legend. His only great year was once, when on the "gear". Then a flop. But a great guy

Hand it back Jobe, AFL still waiting to melt it !

Jobe was injured that year and the main purpose of the supplements was to improve soft tissue recovery times. I have no doubt the use of supplements helped Jobe perform better and was a little perplexed at all the support he received when deciding whether he should keep his medal. Simply he had an unfair advantage and would not have won it had he not been able to play games he wouldn't have normally recovered in time for.

Re: Reece "Skills" Conca

Is any chance he can hit a target going forward?
Not convinced he is best 22 quality.

You've gone from liability to not convinced he's best 22. Sounds like you're on board.

I used peptides years ago to speed up recovery on an injury , before all this stuff blew up at Essendon and the Sharks ,

I do a bit of mountain biking ( non competitive so no cheating against anyone except myself ) my times were heaps quicker while on it , plus strength gains in the gym ,

That stuff is 100 % performance enhancing , I can speak from experience

You do have to wonder how the All Blacks have remained so dominant. :)

I know you are having fun ,

but on a serious note , their system is quiet bizzare , from u 10s right through to seniors , everyone is on the same page trying to make the all blacks successful , its a national obsession ,

Even club coaches at the highest level obey instructions from the All black hierachy to what positions they want certain players to play in , and monitar how many minutes they play , when they need a break from playing altogether etc

The whole system at every level is geared towards that

Again I disagree. I feel sorry for the younger Essendon players including Heppell, they would have been none the wiser. These young guys are groomed all the way from early teenage years now. They are taught to trust the system, do what they are told, they are guided by their junior clubs, into the TAC program and all the way to AFL. To buck the system or question it would have just not been in the thought process and to do so could paint them as troublemakers. Think about yourself when you were 18 or 19 going into your first job. It can be very daunting. I do believe some players have excuses and I think it's wrong to label them as lifelong cheats. Heppel stood out of footy for a year. A fair punishment.
Starting to sound like an apologist for Essendrugs and doping regimes.

There were plenty of mature and experienced players, coaches, administrators all willing to look the other way, keep silent or simply lie to keep the secret. Not just inexperienced 18 or 19 year olds.

Was probably into my sixth or seventh job by the time 18 or 19 rolled around, but even when younger right up until now. If your not happy or comfortable with something then ya open your yap n say something, refuse to do what your not comfortable with or even walk away if necessary. Far to many people find safety in living their lives n careers as sheep hiding in the flock. Heppel n his mates didn't stand out for a year, that would almost have been the honorable thing to do. They got banned for a year n got off lightly.

Re: Reece "Skills" Conca

Undid all his good work by executing poor kicks and hand balls.

Don't know what his DE was but I would say from the nakid eye watching the game on tv, poor.

Was rapt that I thought he had turned the corner but in a pressure game he riverted back to some poor decision making.

Does he hold his spot? I Think Dimma will trust in him next week.

11 disposals at 73%

Re: Reece "Skills" Conca

Gave away some stupid free kicks + 50 metre penalty.
Has he been tested? I think he has an extra chromosome.

i know who needs testing.

Re: Reece "Skills" Conca

He can't hit targets with a handball...One of our worse today alongside houli, graham and flappers

Re: Reece "Skills" Conca

11 disposals just wasn't enough. Only gained 32 metres by far the worst in the side. That 50 metre penalty was just plain and utter stupidity. How can you be that dumb. Resulted in a goal. On flip side he did have 2 goal assists. Can't drop him on the one game after stringing a couple of good ones but the question still is whether he can handle it when there is real pressure in a game.

Has shown he can handle real pressure in games, needs to be more consistent at doing it sure. agree he didn't get enough of it and won't get many chances in this side to have 11 possession games. (Rancey's 50 was pretty dumb too I thought, but yeah he's Rancey).

Rance's was silly but that was split second after and you see that happen all the time after a mark. Conca kicked the ball away off the ground clearly well after the free had been paid. It was plain dumb, there was only ever going to be one outcome and in a dangerous spot. He's done stupid things like that before, he just has total brain fades. Very weird.

Re: Reece "Skills" Conca

Still a hard inside mid, who is doing his job. Not a great day, but form had been good. That 50 though ???

Re: Reece "Skills" Conca

Just 69% game time after shouldering the load last week while Chimp and Dusty each spent a quarter on the bench. Only Short, McIntosh (both 68%) and Higgins (62%) spent more time on the pine today. Reece still managed to lay more tackles than all but 3 of his teammates.
