That would be funny if for the second half of their careers Essendon supporters moaned that they rather have Conca than Heppell.
Never gunna happen, Essendrug supporters n Seagull are perfectly suited to one another. Match made in heaven.

Re: Reece "Skills" Conca

Heppel is just playing in a crap side. Very good player, would slot in at the Tigers.

Crap side made finals last year and were very bullish about their expected improvement this year. He's captaining the team n from the first half I bothered watching today he played a pure outside lurker role. Just about everyone around football obliterated Cotch for his cheap n dinky one two possessions of a couple of years ago, but no-one says boo about Seagull. Also bloody pathetic the way the team leader lets Floggard get away with his antics n berating of the rest of the team.

Good sides can get away with carrying an outside lurker, lurkers are deadwood in a side like Essendrugs. Reckon Grigga would have Seagull covered in the outside lurker stakes when he was younger n Grigga managed to harden up massively to become our spare ruck.

Very harsh. Heppell is a quality player who maybe has lost his way a little. Had to go through the drug saga as a yougster and may be he doesn't have the same passion he used to. He's never been a raw inside grunt contested player but I've seen him put his body on the line plenty of times. If he's lost interest in Essendon I'd be very happy to see him in the Tiger colours.

More than happy for Essendrugs to keep him as captain until he retires. Bloody drug saga is no excuse, nothing more than self inflicted cheating, they were all happy to keep *smile* secret.

Disagree with all that. Heppell has shown plenty of ticker, never seen him shirk it.

Yeah I like heppell. Shocking hair though. As TT said, that's all good fun when you're a kid, but it's well and truly into awkward someone needs to have a word with him Territory.

Re: Reece "Skills" Conca

Which were Heppell’s best years again? I seem to recall Jobe Watson and Heppell playing well together. Maybe my memory is failing. I seem to remember Hooker having his best period at the same time, too.

We will remember, these should not be forgotten years.

Re: Reece "Skills" Conca

good calls 70s, balooba and oldie. I forgot for a minute. I do still feel a bit sorry for the young players who got sucked into that shitstorm.

The longer the game goes the better he gets at the moment. Really good last quarter tonight.

If he’s in our bottom 4-6 we’re going well.

watched the VHS, ripper last quarter in the engine room with the game still to be won. Thats what good players do!

Re: Reece "Skills" Conca

This match is Concas most important game at the club if he wants to be a Premiership player, he will be huge if he can a big influence in the stoppages against the Pies midfield, longer he can do his job in there the longer Dusty stays forward and creates Bucks a headache. Get the feel Caddy doesn’t play so Conca becomes crucial

That bloody ASADAhole. Mongrels simply ruined the careers of so many essendrugs champions.

Again I disagree. I feel sorry for the younger Essendon players including Heppell, they would have been none the wiser. These young guys are groomed all the way from early teenage years now. They are taught to trust the system, do what they are told, they are guided by their junior clubs, into the TAC program and all the way to AFL. To buck the system or question it would have just not been in the thought process and to do so could paint them as troublemakers. Think about yourself when you were 18 or 19 going into your first job. It can be very daunting. I do believe some players have excuses and I think it's wrong to label them as lifelong cheats. Heppel stood out of footy for a year. A fair punishment.

They do, does anyone recall the flying start to the season that they had that season, they were bull at a gate hard fast gun and run and were beating all comers.

Jobe won the Brownlow.
