On Short I’d be interested to see how many goals he concedes?

That's my concern, he did ok against Betts but might struggle against bigger, stronger players. There's got to be a place for him somewhere, because he's so skilful.

I'm taking fit and in good form. Fit is moot obviously. But an in-form Reece plays ahead of Short, Menadue, (that is as it stands, they might lift and force him out) and possibly Lambert, Graham (based on current form). I think he's a better player than B. Ellis but that is apples and oranges, and I acknowledge I'm a Brandon skeptic and he's in in for his tremendous run. Best 22 is never set in concrete remember, barring a core 10-14, there are constant fluctuations in form and needs.

Obviously an out-of-form Conca isn't best 22.

Ok, it will be interesting to see what selection decisions are made once Caddy, Broad and Prestia come back in. I agree that Conca, Short and Graham are in the mix for the last couple of spots. B Ellis would have to be on shaky ground. Can't see Lambert being dropped ahead of Conca. Pressure for spots makes us a very strong team.

He did start as a small forward, maybe we could use him there , no reason he can’t play up the ground more, maybe on a wing

I can't see why he couldn't play forward or on the wing, kicked 3 goals on debut as forward. He is very clean with his hands, i can't remember him fumbling too much.

Fanboi-ism and understanding the game are two different issues Snakey.

Success last year lay in changed messaging and game plan and letting players play to their strengths as well as jettisoning some favourite drones.

Pre 2017 you will see many a poster touch on those very issues while you ignored them or batted them away while manning the barricades.

I happily congratulate Dimma and all others involved on the result last year which was simply magnificent.

See what I'm dealing with here? For the record, I did not start this, and won't say much. So you're saying I backed Dimma, so I'm a fanboi-ist who doesn't understand the game? As always, impeccable logic. I have no doubt if Dimma ever bothered to consider the fact someone who bagged him relentlessly now congratulates him he'd think that was funny.

For the record, I always said arguments could be made to sack or keep Dimma, I sat on the fence basically, but once the club made the call, I backed them and him. Pretty simple. Fanboi? (i'm 50 this year, so fanman maybe? fanoldman-ist?) Loyalty? Support? call it whatever you want.

(That is my last word to you on this, regardless of how annoyingly lacking in self-awareness your comeback is)

Re: Reece "Skills" Conca

He has always had skills and evasiveness, he just keeps getting injured.

Reckon he is in better form than Heppel right now ;D

Re: Reece "Skills" Conca

I thought he was pretty good today. Really put his body on the line and these conditions suited him. Had 5 turnovers but 4 were in the first half. Just has to keep his disposals simple, not try to be too smart.

Yep. As I said, still learning the ropes.
