Reece Conca - so long and thanks for all the fish

Re: Reece "Alfa Romeo" Conca

Conca’s career will pan out like Dave or Grimes. Riddled with injury with many calling for the chopping block. But once his body is right he’s going to be a sure first 18 starter.

If it wasn’t for Conca going down early in the Elimination we would have beaten Carlton.

Time will tell on the first, but who does he replace? Is it as a mid (so he replaces Lambert? Edwards? Graham?) or as a half-back/wing - where he replaces Broad? McIntosh? Ellis?

Disagree on the second part.

Re: Reece "Alfa Romeo" Conca

Would have made a huge difference in that final. He was running with Murphy early. Conca going off early brought on an unfit Tuck who was never meant to play the entire day. It was a huge gamble that did not pay off

Re: Reece "Alfa Romeo" Conca

Alfa Romeo you have to be kidding . John Deere (Tractor) would be more suitable.

While it’s sacrilige to talk about displacing any premiership player, I’d be surprised if we didn’t have at least 3-4 changes by round 15. A fit conca, short, markov, cellis and Higgins are all good candidates.

Perhaps grigg, Towner, McIntosh and George don’t back up? And of course, we did have a good injury run.

If it was out of those 3... McIntosh. easily. He might be a premiership player now, but I don't think he's in our best 22.

Re: Reece "Alfa Romeo" Conca

How good is it that we now have genuine depth?

We need to have C Ellis, Markov, Short, Conca and Menadue (even Lloyd and Miles) putting pressure on McIntosh, Townsend, B Ellis, Butler, Castagna, even Houli. That competition will hopefully bring out the best in all. Bring it on!

My choice to head outwards too.

Re: Reece "Alfa Romeo" Conca

Grigg and Houli are both 29. We need to have their replacements identified and fighting hard for those spots by the end of this year.

McIntosh is severely underrated. During the next viewing of the Grand Final, watch him closely. He does a lot without the ball and has the tank to keep putting himself where he can disrupt the opposition time after time.

yep. I think plenty of people judge Kmac using an outdated template.

weve changed the game, and Kmac will continue to be very important to how we play.

oh, and a fit Reecy is best 22 too

we're gonna have some good players running around in the 2's ;D

Re: Reece "Alfa Romeo" Conca

very happy if Reece gets it going, he's got class. who does he replace? who ever is not putting in.

Menadue & Markov imo

These 2 boys are both 21 years old and tracking well and will be primed by the time they are 23

Spot on.

His involvement caused at least 3 turnovers. One resulted a goal. His hard running to man up and stop the run, caused the adelaide to kick side way and was intercepted and a goal followed afterwards

Kmac runs to that hole time and time again.
So important to our gameplan.
Love him.

Re: Reece "Alfa Romeo" Conca

Kmac has taken that special spot in my heart that Tucky used to occupy once

Re: Reece "Alfa Romeo" Conca

His kicking is sooo bad I think he does well to win the ball but then butchers it. I do not know what to make of him.

Yep he needs to work on his delivery.
Won the ball then kicked blindly a few times today.
Don't think he's in our best 22 arm.
Prefer Short down back.

Rubbish.

Was good today. Worked through traffic.

He is a liabilty, couldn't hit a target to save himself. Nothing's changed
