Reece Conca - so long and thanks for all the fish

Re: Reece "Alfa Romeo" Conca

I'd have him in place of Houli, if he had enough km in the legs.

Surely we wouldn't be that dumb again. 2018 preparation, help the VFL win the flag, dominate the VFL finals.

How many VFL games do you need to play to qualify for finals? Don't think he'll qualify

Agree. Under no circumstances should he be brought back. He has missed too much football and the intensity only goes up in finals. Haven't we been here before with him? We have plenty of cover for the position that he plays and the back six has been superb as a unit all year.

To put it bluntly he is not needed this year and it would be a huge risk to bring him back. He should be concentrating solely on rehab and getting himself right for a full tilt at next year's campaign.

Not sure if he'll make back in the 22 but it would be good to have him fit and ready in case of injuries. Couldn't hurt to have some depth.

Perhaps unlike previous years when we went into finals with a huge focus on just getting past the first one, we should be planning for a month of finals coming up and Conca can be part of the squad that contributes to Richmond's success during that 4-week period.

If we cop an untimely suspension in a prelim, he'd be a fine player to come in for a Grand Final.

Whether we make it or not is not the point; we have to plan for the best and Conca absolutely is part of those plans.

I'd imagine that whilst the AFL team is still active he would qualify to play in the VFL.

You need depth for a finals campaign- good to have him ready if needed

I think it's more a threshold of AFL games that disqualifies you. And even then, if both teams are active in the finals, anyone can play.

Re: Reece "Alfa Romeo" Conca

Hope gets his chance before the end of home & away..

Re: Reece "Alfa Romeo" Conca

Was the biggest improver at the club for the first 6 rounds I thought. Hopefully can get back and help win a flag at VFL level, doubt his got enough to time left to get the run in the legs and the confidence in the body.

If he has a change of luck and a big pre season ,could be a handy acquisition next year

agree re this year, but if he can get fit again, always a big if with Reecey, better than handy next year, BOOM

Re: Reece "Alfa Romeo" Conca

Club reckon Reecey plays VFL this week! ;D

Re: Reece "Alfa Romeo" Conca

Would like to see Conca regain his early season form and be ready for the finals but maybe I am hoping too much considering his long lay of

Re: Reece "Alfa Romeo" Conca

Our website states that as well as Conca, we will have Morris and Hampson returning to the reserves this week.

I've noticed that Tyson Stengle is back on the Rookie list, i'm assuming because of players returning, so where does this leave Ivan Soldo?

Is there still a place available for him on the senior list, or does he now have to drop back?

Nathan Drummond is gonski for 2017 but at the moment we have both Soldo and Castagna as elevated (correct me if i'm wrong).

Did we have a spare spot as well as the Drummond spot?

Splitting hairs but i think Conca is next week not this week and Griff may be next week as well. Not sure either has enough time to build a case. Of the 2 only urgent need would be Griff if he can show something.

Plus halfway through the season you're allowed to have 1 free upgrade.

Unlucky Tiger. Very unlucky.
He'd be pushing to get back methinks but it's good to have all hands on deck at this time of the year because you never know what's around the corner.

Is this a trick question?

It was in reference to Conca's kicking skills which are no worse than Prestias and Houli's this season.

Maybe I am being a tad harsh on Houli but Conca's kicking before injury was better than Prestia's this year.
