Reece Conca - so long and thanks for all the fish

Re: Reece "Can You Feel The Love" Conca

If he stays fit, he becomes one of those vital middle tier players who steps up and makes the 22 much stronger. Top 10 player as we speak

I heard several former members of the Richmond coaching panel express the same view.

In fairness, 2013 was Reece's best season until this one, agreed, but even then came 17th in our B&F that year. We lost by 20 points, it would be hard to get any neutral to agree the loss of the 5-7th best midfielder was so crictical.

In my opinion the hobbling of Daniel Jackson was crucial in that game.

When the teams came out after half time, we had the first year player Nick Vlastuin lining up on Judd. When Judd started to cut loose, a fit Daniel Jackson would have been our best shut down weapon. As a bonus he would have likely decided to hurt him a bit as well.

As it was, he still managed a reasonable game for someone who could hardly run on the day.

Reece the Concador! Always makes me feel a little nervy when he has the ball but can turn on a sixpence and currently does more good than bad. Mind you, he still knows how to cough it up magnificently. I'm sure opposition players have now twigged that if they yell "Reece" he'll handball or kick it to them before he's realized who yelled his name.

Lisfranc fracture. Goodbye 2017 most likely. :(
That's horrible news for him if true. Really feel for him after showing the best form of his career and finally being fit

Re: Reece "Can You Feel The Love" Conca

shame, gets some luck with his hamstrings and now this. C Ellis in - like for like, although I think Conca has some extra zip, C Ellis better by foot.

Lisfranc ???
"Lisfranc (midfoot) injuries result if bones in the midfoot are broken or ligaments that support the midfoot are torn. The severity of the injury can vary from simple to complex, involving many joints and bones in the midfoot.
A Lisfranc injury is often mistaken for a simple sprain, especially if the injury is a result of a straightforward twist and fall. However, injury to the Lisfranc joint is not a simple sprain that should be simply "walked off." It is a severe injury that may take many months to heal and may require surgery to treat."..........http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/

Damn, just so much *smile* that one player can constantly get kicked in the nads by the injury gods. Was enjoying his work this year n just happy to see him get a reasonable chance to play fully fit.

Re: Reece "Can You Feel The Love" Conca

*smile*. Conca has had no luck whatsoever.

Re: Reece "Can You Feel The Love" Conca

Bugger.

Never thought would say this, but will miss him back there. Been good this year.

Re: Reece "Can You Feel The Love" Conca

Death. Taxes. Conca getting injured and Morris stinking it up.

Agree. Means Morris will stay and Hunt will come in.

Good times.
