Reece Conca - so long and thanks for all the fish

Re: Reece "Can You Feel The Love" Conca

Still feel very nervous when the ball is in his hands but much better season. Could still prove his worth.

Re: Reece "Can You Feel The Love" Conca

played really good.

Chaos ball suits him to the boot studs

Re: Reece "Can You Feel The Love" Conca

Found his niche in a controlled environment down back.

Great coaching move.

Re: Reece "Can You Feel The Love" Conca

Was good to see him at the bottom of the Cotch inspired melee - seems really switched on their year. Playing in the back line saves the mossie squad from those big hugs

Super nervous. Not sure he can pull back his worth but he could be a bottom 8 player in a good side. Going better.

Re: Reece "Can You Feel The Love" Conca

Reckon he moves to the midfield to improve our clearance work and link up. We are still short in this area as melb exposed us. Was a junior mid.

Re: Reece "Can You Feel The Love" Conca

Imo Reece's main problem's been that he's not been able to build real fitness due to fragile hammies.
I remember in the first quarter of the final against the bloose he was on fire until he tore his hamstring.
Hopefully he can avoid further injury & we can see what he's really capable of. At present he's going along quite nicely.

Yep. Had he not gone down we would have won that prelim

Re: Reece "Can You Feel The Love" Conca

Yep the zip, pace, evasiveness and sharp change of direction displayed in his u18 highlights is coming back. Hope he stays fit.

I heard several former members of the Richmond coaching panel express the same view.

In fairness, 2013 was Reece's best season until this one, agreed, but even then came 17th in our B&F that year. We lost by 20 points, it would be hard to get any neutral to agree the loss of the 5-7th best midfielder was so crictical.

He played 17 games that year, his second season of AFL Seniors having played 5 senior matches in 2012. In 2013 he averaged 18.4 disposals a game and 3.5 tackles. Not bad for a kid. He looked like he was running with Judd at the start of the prelim. Who knows if what would have transpired.

We were forced to activate our sub who was Tuck. A very different type of midfielder to Reece.

It may be true, and it's a fine argument for supporters to ponder. But I think if you were told the argument about another team, you would probably conclude that on balance that is insufficient excuse for loseing. Particularly in a week we've just done the same thing to someone else.

Re: Reece "Can You Feel The Love" Conca

Another one having an outstanding yr. I think the key reason for our success at this point in the season is that a large group of 2nd tier players are having outstanding yrs.

Heheh Conca Island?

It's the Conca Cruise ship. It looks like it's just rescued the stranded inhabitants of Lennon Island.
