And it's all true! Or believed to be true. Or is a bit true. Or not true.
One of the above.

Careful Mr Turtle ;D

Ok so we're aware of the faults.

What are the positives?

IMO he's very good in close.
Decent link player by hand.
Good tackler.

I still see him as a fringe/depth player I'm afraid. Have Edwards ahead of him in the 22.

Very good in close? Probably one of his biggest weaknesses.

Has has no idea what he's doing in traffic and runs himself into trouble time and time again. Just because he holds onto to the ball long and can weave a bit doesn't mean he's good in close. Misses the right easy options then butchers it taking the wrong ones.

Looked like one of the worst players out there in the practice match. Stood out for all the wrong reasons. "Super fit Conca" still the same player.

Used to be a pretty good instinct player.
Unfortunately has been overcoached imo and is more confused than instinctive these days.
Conca would be a prime example of a player that would be reinvented under the freedom of Luke Beveridge's simplified approach to the modern game.

No, mate. Brandon Ellis is overcoached. Conca is fat.

Re: Reece "Pitching Wedge" Conca

Agree that Conca isn't the best in tight. Certainly not offensively anyway.

Re: Reece "Pitching Wedge" Conca

We can debate all we like about how good he is or not but the simple fact is that he has been around for 6-7 years and has never had a decent full preseason and an injury free season.

If he gets a decent run at it then we will really know. I hope he does.

Bullsh1t
If he gets a run at it injury wise let's see..

Re: Reece "Pitching Wedge" Conca

I thought he was pretty good, got plenty of it, gave run off half-back, won the ball back.

Lambert was by far the worst on ground. Six touches, four of them in junk time. One of them thanks to a lace-out Conca pass.

Re: Reece "Pitching Wedge" Conca

saw him butcher the ball a couple of times, get caught holding the ball...and this was just in the first period.
The guy doesn't make good decisions and therefore his skills suffer, its scary we have him playing down back.
He should be playing further up the ground (in the VFL side).

Re: Reece "Pitching Wedge" Conca

The more.games he plays the lower we will finish
Total disaster of a.top 10.pick

How come this thread title can be changed at will?
