Last year I would have agreed 100%, this year he comes with a truckload of baggage. Attitude wise, he has a touch of the Fevs and medically there's big question marks on his head injury sustained in the fight, not to mention rumours of OP. I'm not sure if this has been a ploy by West Coast to ensure they got their man or there's truth to the rumour. Either way, he'll be followed very closely and I suspect will be something of a media magnet, for better or for worse.

Don't think clubs have as much time for the 'loveable larrikan' types, with all the psych testing and media management there seems to be a propensity to avoid potential trouble-makers. I'm not suggesting Darling will ever emulate the antics of Fevola but I'm sure that 17 clubs were more than a bit concerned by the bad press that he recieved, not to mention the assault which had some clubs questioning why or how he put himself in that position in the first place. Don't forget he came into the year as a potential number one pick and despite his lack lustre form in the u/18 carnival, his WAFL form has been serviceable.
So was it fitness, form or attitude, or possibly a combination?

One thing I really liked about Conca in his highlights was how he slid onto the loose ball, protecting it with his body before exploding back up with it - did it a few times too.

Agree, he's like a jack in the box when he hits the deck, superbly balanced played.

Doesn't use it that often if the highlights package are anything to go by, but super skilled guys like these can always use their left to a reasonable standard.
I love his balance, and the way he moves..a lot like Cotchin..isn't that quick but the way he moves and can evade will more than compensate.
