Re: Adam Goodes

2 Brownlow medals, 2 Premierships, umpteen finals matches, 372 games. 4 Time All Australian.
All the recent BS aside he will rightly be remembered as one of the greatest players ever to play the game and certainly the best indigenous player. At his best could play any position on the field. A utility in the true sense of the word and a fantastic leader for Sydney FC. The word champion gets bandied about a lot these days but Adam wears it easily. Amazing career.

Couldn't agree more ToO, you wouldn't complain with that on your cv. Far from my favourite player, but kudos on a great career.

I hope Goodes gets cited and pays a fine for kickin a Roos player in the ankles when he was on his back on the ground. Dirty act ! Wishful thinking... but the AFL protected luv child I feel the act wont even get a mention !
Good riddance, bye Goodes !

Won a Brownlow playing in the ruck, a true champion.

Couldn't argue with that.

However as Barry Hall said the other day when Goodes wore Buddy's jumper at training showing his support, why could he not just send him a text or give him a call, too much all about Adam for me over the end of his career, I personally lost a lot of respect for him and think his close to the worst stager, diver, sniper the games seen, Champion footballer no doubt , good bloke ?I don't know , I'm glad his now gone from the game thou

Was that the 3 club, punchy Barry Hall CC? ;D
Goodes seems to have plenty of people closest to him have a lot of good things to say but I'll just judge him as a player.
Always love a forward who likes to belt backman ToO .....generally smart fellas

because he's an extremely high profile person making a statement. A public show of support is going the extra yard. Pretty basic stuff Baz (If a player Hall liked had done it he'd say how great it was).

Yep, amazing. Pretty good for a skinny kid from Horsham.

Wow, has there ever been a player so polarising as Adam Goodes.

In some camps he’s a sook and a whimp (booooo ...harden up princess), a stager, an elbow man and a kicker - a dirty player (boooo yer dirty bastard), a bully of little girls (booooo ..pick on someone yer own size ... booo), a (and I love this…) crowd intimidator (hahaha….so many helpless carlton supporters and home viewers terrorized when he did indigenous war dance.. hahahaha..too scary …boooo), a mixer of sport and politics (boooo – unaustralian bastard! boooo) , a polarising speech maker (boooo – how dare he have a considered opinion … booo) and as Drexel of True Romance would say ‘a diddled eyed joe to damned if I know’.

In other camps he’s a champion footballer (what?), an eloquent speaker(whaat?), an activist for indigenous rights (wrong place wrong time), a good man and an outstanding contributor to modern Australia (whaaaat?).

Wish he had’ve played all those games for the Tiges....

Yes he tried to make it so much about himself by keeping it low key and not even wanting any accolades from the crowd ::)

......

Spot on. And that's why I am glad he has retired as a football player. I wish him every success for the future.

Why do people who talk about it being an all inclusive culture then call Adam Goodes the greatest INDIGENOUS player of all time surely he's jjust one of the all time greats .
Peter Bell the greatest Asian .
Silvagni the greatest Italian .
Ivvy the greatest Croatian .
Bachar the greatest Muslim .
