Have a friend who is in London, just arrived for short trip to see friends.

He likes Leeds Utd. Coincidentally they are playing in London on Sunday.

Playing away at……. Millwall.

He’s saying he wants to go to the game.

I’m trying to tell him. It’s not like going to the footy here. You can’t just go and sit anywhere and still support the away team. Especially not at Millwall. 😳

I don’t know how he would go about getting a ticket in the away section? Especially at this late stage. Are they essentially sold only to Leeds season ticket holders?

From what I have observed, the recognised away support get escorted in and out of the neighbourhood and ground by police, usually from the train that has come in from Leeds.

Sure, he could probably get a ticket to the game easy enough. But would only be able to go along and act as a neutral observer, if in normal general admission.

I've done the Millwall trip a couple of times. Not sure how, but even when you are in a completely different stand to their home support you feel intimidated. I've never been to a stadium and felt like I have at Millwall.

If he goes in the home end tell him 1 thing - NO CLUB COLOURS.

I went the first time on the official supporters coach, you get escorted in from the motorway by the police and out again (they have these big iron gates that isolate the whole away end from the rest of the ground.

The 2nd time I was living in London, I travelled via Tube (I had my tickets from the club) and wore plain clothes (I actually wore blue colours) and even though we lost, acted all happy when I left the ground to try and blend in with their support haha.

I've been to some dodgy places where you can be beaten up, but nothings quite like Millwall.

Another typical Wolves performance. Go 1-0 up then Cunha misses an absolute dead set sitter in the box to go 2-0 up. Then, Wolves defence just *smile* itself and gives up late goals. Again.

Watching Wolves is like watching Richmond. They miss nearly every single opportunity to the point where you feel we must have at least 6 Shai Boltons playing for us. Then, the back half starts leaking like a siv and it becomes a *smile* fight.

Relegation looking highly likely at this point.

In the context of the UK, probably only finding oneself among opposing supporters on Old Firm weekends in Glasgow. Or being among the away support at those Rangers v Celtic match ups might compare to the fear factor of Millwall away.

At the moment, away support has actually been banned until further notice at Old Firm matches.

Wolves should survive again Redders.

Theres some dire teams below at the minute, Sheffield, Bournemouth, Burnley, and of course Luton even Everton are going like busteds. Forrest arent out of the question either but are gathering early points which is important for lower ranked clubs early.

Thats 6 other relegation contenders at this stage and thats a fair few this early on into a season.

They’re like celery. No good.

Leeds win 0-3 away at Millwall.

Don’t dare show any pleasure in that result if dispersing with the home crowd. Got to try and act as miserable as hell.

Spurs.

Ange.

That’s all.

Pretty insane finish, but Ange teams have been known for doing this. You can never underestimate anyone in this league.

On another note, I joined OzSpurs ($20) and OneHotspur+ (£60) and applied for tickets to Brighton and Wolves games next February. The seats are located in Bay 251 at the bottom of the southern end (home end). Cost is £69 each.

I'm not guaranteed tickets via this method, but i have heard the success rate so far this season has been 100%. I'll find out mid-November if I have been successful.

Bloody hell. Makes you grateful each teams fans can associate with each other in the AFL.
True.

I just laugh at what a fool grey tracksuit man is making of himself (I'm laughing somewhat in despair). He thinks he looks "well 'ard." But the more he carries on, the more the away support section just laughs at him and chants even more. Absolutely ridiculous carry on. If your team was 0-3 down and it was eating you up that much, best to shut up and walk home. Taking things just a touch too seriously. Full grown men carrying on like that. Worst of all, he's probably bred.

Gotta say, I've never been to a world game match, but I've become slightly addicted to listening and watching all those post match podcasts and fan reviews etc.
Ange has completely won em over...... don't reckon I've ever heard so many middle-aged/old blokes declaring so much love for a coach!
Hope you get there Ian..... I'm slightly envious.

It’s more the style Spurs play. It’s so good to watch. Same with Brighton. There’s a goal they scored at Old Trafford that is Barcelona pretty. Same with Angeball. Bissouema, Porro, Udogie and even Van Der Ve, all so quick on the ball and have such good first touch and can turn facing away from goal and go so quick.

I've got 3 different options for tickets. I'll be fine.

If Udogie keeps this up, Citeh or Real Madrid might come knocking. He's a serious player. Fabio Paratici might be banned, but he's clearly still working his magic behind the scenes.

Well... I'll looking forward to your post match footage as per the attached 😉
I imagine this is down the Tottenham Way End?
Poor old Grog Squad have gotta lift their game!

Yep, clubs will come for all them, Bissouema first I reckon, he just glides.

Millwall. What an embarrassment.
I wonder if every time Millwall just miss promotion playoffs each year (happens regularly), whether EPL officials breath a sigh of relief.

Would be a *smile* embarrassment having them there. A shame I know, because they would have plenty of decent, normal people supporting them that are no different that your run of the mill supporters of any club.

But there is a significant element of f…whits who feel they need to performatively live up to the reputation earned in the ‘golden years’ of 1970s/80s football hooliganism.
