PRE Phantom Draft 2013

I can honestly say we at Fremantle are very dissapointed and now wish we had taken a leaf out of west coast's book and spread horrible rumours about Cameron.

Really sorry about pinching your Pav replacement Knighta! ;)

But that can't be true Streak! That would mean that real recruiters know more about it than us on PRE, preposterous!

Absurd huh :hihi

His draft stocks seem to have risen lately. It was mentioned on local radio here late last week that as many as 8 clubs had talked to him about being a first round selection. On that alone, the odds look good for him going earlier than Carlton.

Personally, I have a sneeking suspicion that the Pies are actually going to nab him. Talk of Lennon at 10 is a smokescreen to hide their true intention.

I have a good tip on who the Dockers are hoping to pick at this spot. Will wait til you have your selection and see if it matches up.

Interesting. I have two who I believe the Dockers will be very keen on after looking at the age and state of their list.

That's unfortunate but we can't wait all day for peoples selections or the whole show loses momentum and it's already been 4 hours apart.

You're up with Sydney.

Maybe it would be a good idea for those who may be away from PRE for a while to PM ToO with their first three choices - if it looks likely their turn may be missed?

I know he likes Garlett so there's a chance he'd take him.

Pick #15 - Sydney - Luke Dunstan 185cm/83kg

I rate Luke higher than probably everyone else here. I had him top 3 going into the year and still have him at 6. Bit like Flossy last year, just a really good footballer without the athletic traits of some other top draftees. Was fantastic at last years Champs as an under ager and this year was good again without being the best. Adds to the grunt of the Swans and I think he will be able to play from Round 1. Strong, uses the footy well, his athleticism is better than he gets credit for without it being a strength and most importantly he's tough, wins his own ball and projects as a future captain of the club.

Absolutely but I did make this fairly clear.

Without nannying I'll just say this to participants..

The key to a successful Phantom Draft is having people who are on here regularly and feel that they can contribute at regular intervals.
If this is not the case for you then perhaps you should relinquish your spot.
It's great fun for all when it works and people are active but when things stagnate it can be difficult.
If you can't be around to take your pick then please ensure that you pass your seklections on to others who can make them for you. or me of course..

Another gentle reminder that this draft not only requires participants to be fairly regular with their selections but it also requires patience from others of those that have commitments holding them up.
Usually the window for a selection is up to 2-3 hours. Best to have a couple of selections in the bag already for when it comes to your pick if possible.
Bit of a balancing act but we usually get there.

Geelong are over the moon that they can decide between Nathan Freeman and Matt Crouch.

Gee, this is tough. We get the ready made partner for Joel Selwood.....

MATTHEW FREEMAN.... NO NATHAN CROUCH.

Geez, this is tough. I'm going for Nathan Freeman.

It's all good. It rarely runs totally smoothly with so many people doing so many things whilst trying to keep an eye on this. That's why passing on your selections to others is crucial.

We at Fremantle have witnessed the sudden demise of St Kilda and the rise of Richmond. Richmond at the end of 2009 took two KPP at their second and third picks. With this in mind Fremantle would like to welcome

Jonathon Marsh.
Height: 191cm
Weight: 89kg
Team/Club: WA/East Fremantle
Position: Forward Flanker/Utility

Some may view this as a reach but Freo have had their eyes on him for a while. We see him in a Darling mold and believe he will compliment Pav, Bradely and Gumby instantly in the forward 50. There will be a view to develop him into a tall midfielder who also rests forward in the future, not unlike the way Matthew Pavlich has played over his career.

Needs to be done in groups of two. More likely for someone to be on at the right time.

Fair idea but good luck getting 36 posters to do it or are you suggesting fellow participants? This is how we have done it in the past and it works fine.
As I said I am more than happy to take people's selections by PM for when they are not available which is fundamentally the same thing as you are suggesting.
If they are uncomfortable with me spying ;D on their selections then just PM them to another poster who's nowhere near your pick.
Anyways who's up?
