We'll have to come back to Sammy. Not much likelihood of crossovers now anyway..

Stylo said:Essendon pick 66 - Joel Tippett
Dons take a punt on the the mature age athletic defender from West Adelaide after he blitzed the state combine. Joel is a gorilla who can take the big guys and do a reasonable negating job while offering a bit of rebound. May allow Carlisle to spend more time forward where he can be very dangerous.

bullus_hit said:Richmond are sticking to the script in their efforts to bolster their midfield stocks. They were very interested in Lang but also had a smokey up their sleeve who may be slipping under the radar a little, that player is Woodville-West Torrens midfielder Riley Knight. At 180cm and 73kg, Knight has a nice balance of inside & outside capabilities that should appeal to recruiters.
Knight's carnival was nothing to write home about, he was serviceable playing from a forward flank averaging 16 possessions and 5 marks, but it is important to note that he is actually a highly prolific midfielder when playing in the SANFL u/18's. How prolific you may ask? Well given many in the football world have been waxing lyrical about Brad Crouch's severe case of leather poisoning, Knight has had a similar bout of Sherrinitus. In his 6 games before being cut down by injury, he averaged 35 disposals 9 marks and 5 tackles. Now it's probably fair to say that TAC is cut above SANFL u/18's, probably due to the extremely talented guys being promoted to reserves and seniors, however Knight ticks some of the critical boxes required of an AFL aspirant. Firstly, his tank is huge and his beep test of 15.6 means he'll have no trouble in running out games. His disposal is also impressive, and while he won't be the line breaking match winner, he'll be the one farming out the ball to the outside runners and setting up attack from a contested situation. His versatility is also a plus, he should be able to serve out an apprenticeship from a half forward flank, and his clever ball use will be welcomed with open arms by any hungry key forwards.
