Apart from the usual crew there’s Will Martyn and Jack Ross
we are not Geelong
Mitchell doesn’t hurt teams with his 40 possessions
omeara is too slow
IMHO need to go to draft with our first pick draft the best inside mid available
We need a player that gets the ball.
Mitchell gets the ball.
All he has to do is give to Martin, Bolton or Edwards and where back in the hunt next year.
We wait for kids to develop its tooo late.
They have enough picks this year to unleash.
Make one final charge and we don't win it, at least we went hard.
In 2 years time, Jack Edwards Cotchin Grimes might be all gone.

The RFC surely wont part with #7 for Mitchell but they would be more likely to part with a 3rd rounder for Mitch Wallis.

I aint in favor of either scenario to be honest.
Im actually pretty keen on Wallis. Right age but would want to be for Jatz Crackers money.

With Ceglar wanting to leave the Hawks why couldn't we just get zombie to want to go to the Hawks for Mitchell?

We are a low possession team, high metres gained focused

Getting Mitchel who is the lowest impact, highest possession, low metres gained player in the comp makes no sense at all

Don't know why we are doing this!!
Hit the draft
This is our chance for quick rebuild with the hand we have.
People panic because we are not doing much
I'm sure behind the scenes' they are trying to move up the draft not give away early pick for a 28 year old

Mitchell, Yeo, OMeara….where is all this rubbish coming from? 28/29 yr olds at their third club is not the path we want to go down.

Hawks don’t want him.
TM would need to be aware of where he is at and what he brings to a team. For all his stat stuffing he didn’t make the Hawks that much better.
Would need to renegotiate his contract significantly.
as to the trade. Pick 15 and get Hawks future third pick back

I don't know if we are, I also don't think we can afford them. Richmond are the kings of 2 year contracts for a reason, it gives them the ability to shuffle money around to those who deserve it as it becomes available. Look at old Match Payments Macca, he's been on peanuts for years. I surprised he had the cash to get his hair to grow back.

Don't know about that. Sure we can use it, but getting it is the problem. It would be nice to have a grunt getting it out to the guys. Which isn't to say it has to be Mitchell, but inside grunt in any form would be nice.

28yo Brownlow Medallist ball winner in a poor team. The game is about power clearances now, make no mistake.

Melbourne added the power clearance to its goal scoring avenues. Power clearances got them going in the third term against the Dogs. Won them a flag.

Running in waves to the attacking side of the square. A 50m laser into a clean, dangerous F50. Repeat. So efficient, so destructive.

Soldo in tandem with Nank will help. But we only have Cotchin, Ross and RCD as pure ball winners. Yes, I know Prestia can. But we want him in transition alongside Lambert and Edwards.

Creating space for the silk in Martin and Bolton.

We need a player like Mitchell.

If we want to generate power clearances, if we want to activate the best of Prestia, Lambert, Edwards, we need him.

What pick?

Probably 15. Not 7.

One hand on the 2022 cup, one eye on the future.

Im seriously anti-mitchell,

but its a poll question you can only really answer yes to.

cause the 'right' price for me, is pick 98 and he plays for match payments

so for the first time anywhere in my entire life, I donkey voted.

They would want pick 7 not 15.

The way Hawthorn are handling this and have treated long term players in the past few years has been poor

Hearing today their President in the way he spoke sending an email to members preparing them to what may happen is again something I haven’t heard from another president.

SEN going with what ‘other clubs are saying’ that any player over 26 is on the table. Heart & soul players, players who were enticed from other clubs to come over on big $ and now they may be shopped around...

Im not sold on Mitchell. Prior to 17 we had players accumulating 35 plus possessions without too much hurt factor. Mitchell of what I see often doesn’t ‘hurt’ you enough. Can he evolve to play the Richmond Way or the Richmond Man philosophy? Maybe I ‘might’ be ok with 15 but we need KPD assistance to develop at both ends. Keep our picks. I’m ok with being quiet. The club has said on numerous occasions that we are ‘going to the draft’.

The Hawthorn model hasn’t served them well after their dominant period and have since tried to ‘buy’ another premiership instead of ‘hitting the draft’.

Tarrant fills a need now as a replacement for Astbury. (Tick)

I would hate the Tigers to treat say Cotchin, Jack, Edwards, Grimes, Vlaustin that way.

I don't believe Pick 7 should be on the table, but if we could do something like Pick 15 and Cadds for JOM, I'd be behind that. Cadds salary would offset JOM's salary, and I feel he's more the type we need than Mitchell.

He hasn't missed much football over the last 4 years so might be a good option, but we need to use Pick 7 at the draft.

Hawthorn are trying to get rid of older players, it doesn't make sense for them to take Caddy.

Agree with others that I'd take him for pick 15. Keep pick 7 for the draft and hopefully bundle a few other picks to get a few spots lower.

It could come down to how much they want those picks. Lets say they want picks, and we are the only 1 interested. They have to decide, is it better to get the pick, pick up Cadds and take his wage but enabling the club to get Pick 15 at the same time. They would likely have significant salary cap room if they let these players go, so might work. I don't think they are just getting rid of those over 26, but those over 26 that have significant trade value to get more higher picks to fast track their rebuild.
