Polak To Play Against Hawks

Polak will get another year. He deserves it. Has been playing very well in the reserves and deserves a spot ahead of the likes of Moore who has performed very poorly this year.

I'd be interested to know, if Polly deserves the spot ahead of Kel, why he hasn't played seniors before now? There's a big difference between VFL and AFL so it's a big call to say he deserves an extra year when he hasn't managed to play at the top level yet.

Good luck either way to Polly. Great to see him back. There should be no sentiment in decisions on his, or any players, future though. If he's up to being a regular senior then re-sign him. If not I'm glad we've supported him and given him the chance this season.

He has been our best player at Coburg in his two most recent games so he deserves his place in the Senior team.

This is more than we can say for both Hughes, Schulz, Simmonds and Pattison who all surely must be cut before Polak.

Polak has size and can take a decent grab at either end of the ground. He is worthy of another year when you have a look at his recent Coburg form, the other (lack of) talls on our list and the fact that his rate of improvement should continue into next year.

It's fantastic to see Polly get back to play this year.

He deserves a one year contract. He has got back from a serious injury and if he plays well in the last two games that warrants a new contract. We have missed him since he had his horrific injury and I would keep him on the list over a few others.

Good Luck for the game Polly!

People are getting too caught up in the emotions of this decision which need to be removed when making it. Let's be honest, he was a average fringe player before the accident, now he's probably a certain de-listment/retirement.

At least he is fighting for his spot in the side, and will go down swinging.

A few of our more skilled players who seem to have the drive of a '66 mini on blocks could learn a thing or two from him.

To be blunt, on this issue alone, I am more inclined to see Polak run around next year before Schulz.

I would get rid of them both.

Did anyone hear Denim just before 10:00? Asked about a players future at RFC and he said he knows he will not be at the RFC in 2010. I missed the players name!

Didn't Polak finished Top 10 in our B+F in his only full season with us?

He was more than just a depth fringe player from what I remember. Got dropped the month before his accident IIRC, otherwise played nearly every game.

He may have come out of this a better player. But let the people in the know decide that.

Well done Polly. What a fantastic personal achievment. Defied the odds and the experts.

Let's hope he goes alright.

Im not sure where you've been Rosy but Polly has come back from brain trauma. He's only relatively recently been given full games in the VFL firsts and has performed very well. I understood that the Tigers use the VFL affiliate Coburg to analyse players performance and reward on that basis. You have been harping on about rewarding performance in respect to Coughlan (and no arguments from me there) so why should Polak not be given the same opportunity?

All I stated with Kel Moore is that he has had a poor year this year (any arguments there?) and on that basis Polly deserves every much further opportunity as Moore (as an example) does. The key position backline has been a little rough this year and for this reason I believe that Polak will be given another year. In my opinion he has the talent so why cut him especially considering we are going to have a number of retirements and other players cut this year anyway.

Except for the fact Polak wouldn't be able to play man on man KPD. He would be playing loose man or nothing.

I think we've sorely missed that type of player who can fill the space and actually take a mark. Polak and Richo were the two best at it.

Yes, it's factual that he doesn't have the talent to play KPD roles on quality opponents.
Its factual he doesn,t have talent?Geez after all these years he,s conned a few people. ::)

Can you read? Nice trying putting words in my mouth. I said it's factual he doesn't have the talent to play man on man KPD, never said he doesn't have talent.
