Players from other clubs out of contact? Will we shop?

Salopek for Shulz, straight swap. If they bargain hard, throw in Hughes. At worst it'll be trading 2 duds for 1. Nett effect 1 less dud for us.

Salopek been dropped. Seen him play some good footy in the past. What's the story there?

Pears & Hurley - home grown is best. keep your draft picks and develop your own. The Tigers have a history of giving up picks and players for trades - where has it got you?

Tigers
here here leon.

Trading away the pick that could have given us Pears for Sanchez has to go down as the dumbest thing a person has ever done. If the two clowns that pulled the wool over most people's eyes had any idea we'd have Mackenzie, Rance and Pears filling the 3 key back spots for the foreseeable future letting us concentrate on other areas with our earlier picks.

Ashley Hansen from West Coast is a key CHF/FF player and not sure on him age, but he wants out.
My god, getting Ashley Hansen would be worse than the trade to get Sanchez

If we could get Ball for McMuffin I would say yes. Thing is will it happen. Probably not.

That way we could certainly do without Coughlan, Tuck as both are *smile*.

i always appreciate your insightful, intelligent comments. they add a lot.

One from Bumberblitz:

Clint Bartram has been contacted by Brisbane, StKilda, Richmond and Essendon and has a preference to go to StKilda

We hold all the aces here because of Craig Cameron. Make it happen CC!!!

P.S. Is Bartram any good?? :hihi

He's average, don't what him personally. He played pretty well last week though but Melbourne dropped him this week for their tanking cause.

Correct 100% which is why many such as myself and my DEar CLaws have been rabid over the previous drafts errors.

Throw in Mitch Clarke instead of Jon and the club would have built a nice core of talls to go forward with

Clarke, Rance, Post, Vickery, Pears, Thursfield, Riewoldt, with a possible Griffiths or Carlisle type this year along with Cotch, Lids, hopefully a Trengrove or Martin type.

Now the club would be looking much better in this scenario.

King and gardiner were really struggling at their respective clubs...granted they filled the ruck void that many had said existed at the saints for a while, but it was still a gamble given the baggage of Gardiner and Kings injury history.
Thomas' 'ruckmen aren't needed' policy left the club bereft of ruck talent. They recognised that Hackland was no good and offloaded him to Carltoon.

No trading away draft pics,....The only way i would entertain a salopek or say a luke ball etc is in the PSD, we have money in our cap to target an uncontracted player....

On the flip side and only to add to this thread (if and i only say if) we were entertaining the thought of trading out a pic for a player, that draft pic would have to come from trading out a player from our list, IE: patto, *smile*, mcmahon etc etc, if we were lucky and i mean lucky to get 3 draft pics in from trading out players "claw would luv that" i would perhaps only use "1 maximum" draft pic on a player like salopek or ball and with the extra money in our cap we could target another in the PSD if one was available....

Still think we need 7 or 8 pics in the ND, but to put my 2 bobs worth on this thread any thought of giving away a draft pic (1 max) woud have to come ONLY from trading out a player on our list....

Agreed, why would we want Bartram?

SPOT ON, NO TRADING DRAFT PICKS FOR AFL RETREADS.
