Sickening isn't....

Was watching some footage of Kennedy before, impressive. Left boot seems a weapon and a goalkicker.

funny how fast things change... 2 weeks ago. Kennedy was all the talk on here with many hoping we get him with pick 9. Now, you don't even hear of him.

Seems to me that FJ and the Richmond mantra regarding drafting put a HUGE emphasis on the players character - more so than their outright football abilities. If we do select Vlastuin and assuming players of the ilk of Wines and Menzel are still on the board, I can only assume Vlas is of the highest character and hopefully for us, isn't far off some of the other touted top 10 prospects ability wise.

I don't mind that selection process in moderation. Sometimes you just have to take the best in ability also if you are going to build a premiership team. If you choose a team based solely on character you may in fact be overlooking the class you need to build that premiership side. We have gone conservative for the past few drafts so perhaps we need to go with ability this time!

Emma quayles first round prediction in todays AGE demonstrates to me this is the most uncertain draft in recent times. She has no idea and basically says that after pick 1, anything could happen. The only thing she seems certain off is we take Vlastuin which could mean 1 of 2 things. 1. we take Vlastuin or 2. FJ has played his hand very very well and will surprise us all. As long as the surprise isnt <180cm, I prefer option 2. The most exciting thing she writes is that Collingwood m,ight reach for Spencer White at 20  cause they are sacred we will take him with 34 . This could land taylor garner in our lap at 34 . She also has GRrrrrrundies going in the 20's (the collective consiousness has plenty of us getting cold feet - was it sam mayes saying he couldnt kick 2 years ago conjured up subconsious fears of a spastic ruckman and a wasted pick 9?). Interesting she has Aidan Corr going high first round too. This could be the bloke we reach for?? This draft is intriguing. No more sleeps. Go Tigers.

Heres a vid on Nick Vlastuin...

Which players (any 3) of these>>> Vlastuin, Macrae, Stringer, Mayes, Wines, Menzel, Jaksch, Garner or Grundy would u hope for at pic 9....These players are the most likely to land at 9 and beyond,

This is my order of preference and if any of these 3 land at punt road id be happy...

1) Wines
2) Stringer
3) Menzel

-------------
4) Mayes
5) Grundy
6) Vlastuin
7) Macrae
8) Jaksch
9) Garner

I think there is balance. I doubt Martin was picked mainly due to his character traits. It seems when there isn't too much between them then leadership takes the prize.

I'm happy with that.

I'm a big fan of Kennedy but crossed him off based on some less than glowing reports in the interview, he has apparently been telling clubs he doesn't want to leave Adelaide.

If Garlett is still on the board at 32 or 34 do we pull the trigger regardless of the risk attached with his behaviour?

hopefully we haven't gone altra conservative due to martin, connors, taylor, macdonald.

I would still roll the dice at 32, Garlett has the potential to be one of the best players in the draft.

suppose martin needs a new best mate

I think Garlett will be there at 43 if we actually want him.

Which makes me want him even more, there's something incredibly fishy going on here and it's emanating from the West.
