Pick 9 ND 2012 – Who should we pick?

I've watched all of those highlights packages and still have no idea, which is pleasant because I can watch tomorrow night and be optimistic whatever happens.

This is becoming an increasingly hard draft to predict mainly because GWS and the Bulldogs seem to be jumping around with their picks.

The Dees are predictable because it's either Toumpas or Wines.

I rate Vlastuin but there are some great footballers that will still be available at our pick.
Menzel potentially sliding outside of the top 10 is a surprise to me indicating that his medical reports aren't overly flash.
Don't discount us reaching for one of the less fancied picks.

If Francis is happy to get the guy he wants then I'm not overly fussed who is on the board.
In his hands I'm pretty confident that they'll be a good footballer. Has shown he is very capable of identifying talent IMO.
Not really much point worrying about who we didn't get at this early point.

From my very limited knowledge I would like either Wines or Stringer.

Cant warm to Vlastuin for some reason.

Wines has a bit of Jobe Watson about him, with that solid core and big backside and the running action. kicking looks a bit awkward too, but you can't argue against his numbers. proven junior form. surely we won't pass on him if available? every draft has us taking Vlastuin, have we shown our cards?

collingwood could end up picking 3 from grundy, garner, garlett, kennedy, hrovat.

Sickening isn't....

Was watching some footage of Kennedy before, impressive. Left boot seems a weapon and a goalkicker.

they're just waiting there with a big net watching what falls out

Still annoyed at Melbourne and West Coast for agreeing to those trades. 3 first round picks in a row...geez

Good old Tigerbob over at Big Footy reckons we might be cooling on Vlas....we'll find out soon enough.
If true wonder if it's because we thought that Wines would be gone by our pick....

Anderson has said the same. Thinks Wines or Jaksch.

Or could it be that we've played our cards close to our chest and kept the perfect poker face.

When don't we??

Seems to me that FJ and the Richmond mantra regarding drafting put a HUGE emphasis on the players character - more so than their outright football abilities. If we do select Vlastuin and assuming players of the ilk of Wines and Menzel are still on the board, I can only assume Vlas is of the highest character and hopefully for us, isn't far off some of the other touted top 10 prospects ability wise.

Could be, will be damn interesting viewing that's for sure. Since they have scratched the backwards way of reading out the top ten, it will be more nerve wrecking too...

Good post but that's a fairly new mantra Newie. ;)
Vlas certainly has some good character traits. Looking likely he will be a Tiger tomorrow night.

When does young Ghandi become eligible for the draft?
