Pick 53: Jack Graham

What a game and he's only 19 we have a superstar on our hands here
Well done congrats on getting premiership medal at only 19yo

The goal he kicked in the second after an intense period was the moment we broke them IMO. Wow. What a player

I saw him for a half in the vfl only.

That was enough for me. Hard running ball magnet who has the game to transition to AFL

One of those players who just knows how to get the pill
Sometimes you see a player and you just know.

Perplexing he went at 53.

He will be one who is quoted in 17 other fansites like PRE in the context of " why did we take x when Graham was still around" ? For once it won't be us saying it

200 gamer.

Fixed that for you. North, GWS and GCS don't have their own fansites.

One of the media types that was involved in the AIS when Graham was there said he needed a bit of a reality check while he was there. A bit of a fatty and didn't put enough effort into getting fit.

Glad he's ours. I really don't want to say it but when I see him I think of a young Luke Hodge

I saw that too but that was a full year before the draft.

yeah, pretty clutch. Good sign in a 19 year old.

I can understand GWS and GCS but North?

Amazing for a 5 gamer. Forget his 3 goals for a moment, he gave Sloane a bath in the second half, limited him to 7 disposals and had 8 of his own. Sloane was their most damaging player in the 1st half.

The funny part with that , he grew up supporting the crows and Sloane was his favourite player ,

And he wasn't overawed , what a kid

I thought Sloane was shifted on to Graham but failed to quell his influence.

Another media celebrity head that never bothers to check his facts before spewing forth opinion.
If I remember right, young Jaaack2 had some major leg injury issues the two years before he reached draft age. Bit hard to get the miles in n keep the body slim n trim if ya can't run n do any sort of pre season. Still played massive footy each year, culminating in the S.A. captaincy, Larke medal and AA selection.
Kids been a gun junior for bloody years n some supposedly informed n expert recruiters n coaches rated him a try hard, WTF.
Bloody amazed at what this kid has been able to produce in his handful of games since coming off a broken ankle at the start of this year n totally bloody stoked that every other club ignored him

Don't want to hijack this thread because Graham is a ripper but I'm seeing something similar with James Worpel from the Falcons. Has gone from hero to zero for no apparent reason. After this finals series we may see his stocks rising, but for me any player who is a dual All-Australian, Vic Country MVP, a state captain & TAC premiership captain has what it takes to be an AFL footballer. The only missing ingredient when stacked up against Graham is limited exposure to senior football, but that aside I reckon the odds of him making the grade are better than good.

The great thing is we are picking up players who are captain material. It wasn't that long ago that we struggled to pick someone out as true captain potential.
