Pick 53: Jack Graham

Took a closer look at him on the replay.

His positioning and bullocking around the pack was astounding for a teenager.

The club will be quietly thrilled.

Great game and shows alot of upside.

question: did the ex hawks player Graham who played for us, did he wear the same number as Jack?

One thing to work on, he deliberately goes to ground too often, ala Miles, needs to take Dusty's lead and stay on his feet.
He is awesome by the way but watching the GF replay there were several times I wondered why he chose to go to ground.

Should shadow Dusty this off season and learn the fend off

Not since Cogs have I liked a new player as much. Had a bit of a chat to him at the B&F, came across as a great young man, I'd even put him in the Corey Ellis quality young bloke status.

just hope he will be happy to stay here in melb ,

no doubt if he continues to improve the 2 adelaide clubs will be sniffing around ,

he comes from a crows supporting family ,

he seems pretty happy though , his career couldnt have got off to more of a dream start

If he does a Kane Johnson I will happily accept that.

P#ssing on you?

:hihi

I was thinking 2 flags in his first 2 years, then getting the Crows to pay overs for him like we did.

I have now watched back the 3 finals and can honestly say that Jack Graham is a special type of player. He reads the play extremely well and just puts himself where the ball is. He is a tackling machine too and is sharp when in traffic.

Love this kid and as CC Tiger said - not since Cogs have we seen such a talented kid coming through. Love him!

Well sad Tigerlee. Was watching the GF last night with a mate and we were paying more attention to the new youth, incl J Graham. Very solid player, read the play very well and seemed to love the heavy contested work. of memory Rance said his nickname at the club was Fridge :) body very solid :hihi

For the next little while i reckon he'd be very happy to stay, just a peek across the border at what's happening at the Crows and how they treat young players would make him want to stay. I think it also helps that we've forged very strong bonds amongst our playing group. Guys like Dusty staying and with such a clear love for the club all helps with both attracting and retaining talented young players like Graham. Used to be prospective young draftees prayed that they wouldn't be drafted by Richmond, now I think that they're hoping the exact opposite.
