Pick 53: Jack Graham

Grigg 36 touches, 8 marks and 8 tackles ... won't be getting dropped

Fair point, T25. Eight tackles is great. I guess, for me anyway, I just don't see the influence on a game Grigg has, particularly over the last six to eight matches. Maybe I am blind, but a lot of what Grigg does seems ineffectual to me and quite regularly disadvantages the team.

Great debut. Looks composed, his running both ways very un Richmond like. But 11 tackles is out of this world. Can't to see what he can do from here

Cant drop the ruckman.

Course not. You prefer to someone like ....well, maybe ... Hampson? Grigg is more your style ... of ... ahem, ruckman?

Yer, we can sit back and watch how that ferocious Billy Longer attacks Nank and Grigg next week!

AFL fantasy points must be half rubbish as Grigga topped them! Many of his disposals are straight turnovers. Just checked. Yep, as usual, 7 clangers: game-high (both teams). Surely you saw the article the other week where his stats show he has the worst disposal in the league. He's often soft and makes poor decisions. Even nearly kicked Graham in the head today as he went down for the ball! The tackling is good and he has a decent tank. Missed another easy set-shot, directly in front. Overall, is 40% good, 60% liability.

I want Griff to make it back; he is more what we need as a big, strong forward marking target, and ruck support, for Nank. There is also Callum Moore - who is being ignored and I don't know why.

Lucky Grigg can ruck then ;D. Grigg has been awful recently and started poorly but got back into form as the day wore on.

Griff still a bit rusty and Moore is your perefct rookie choice, great athlete , poor skills and decision making, He is developing nicely though.

Your boy was horrendous for three quarters but took some nice marks in the last in the VFL. Good signs for him.

AFL fantasy points are rubbish but as far as Grigga is concerned the other way of looking at it is that he had 29 disposals that weren't clangers .As usual he ran his guts out and made it to contest after contest.

Clanger stats are rubbish as well imo. At the moment the AFL leader in clangers is Dusty, followed by Mitchell, Parker, Adams, Dangerfield, Zorko and Fyfe. Grigga is down in 33rd place. Seems the more you get the footy the more clangers you have, funny about that.

30 disposals werent clangers. he gave away 1 free kick.
he also had 10 score involvements- the most on the ground.
poor opposition but Grigg was good.

The Age gave him BOG.

The number of effective possessions is the stat used to judge the champs like Martin and Dangerfield but the number of ineffective ones is used to judge others. The champs have heaps of ineffective and clangers.

Not trying to compare, just stating facts.

Think you will find the top clanger players are the top contested ball winners. But nit Grigg, lie cp and high clg. Good overall game today tho.

can we tie him down in the summer for an extra 3-4 years please...I don't want a circus this time next year when the crows get into his ear
