Pick 12 discussion.

he may be gone by our pick tho, as said above, B.Anderson said we may take him if he is there.....

Then Weller is the logical choice, I personally think that hoping for a quick playmaker to make his way to pick 33 is highly speculative.

McKenzie, Menadue & Garlett will be gone, that leaves the second tier guys like Drummond, Boekhorst, McGrath & Saad, most of whom will likely be around for our third. Frank needs to play the odds here and make some calculated guesses as to where the value lies. For me the ideal scenario would be -

12. Weller
33. Miller / Webb
52. McGrath / Bampton
70. Daniel

Any combination of Miller/McGrath or Webb/Bampton would provide some inside grunt and classy outside run. Daniel also would be well worth the price this late in the draft.

many options that could slide. very interesting night coming up next week. it can't come soon enough
it will all depend on who we get with our 1st pick it seems. so long as we get the right mix

Also, just on Caleb Daniel - Brett Anderson was saying that many clubs he had spoken to were not interested at all because of his size. Thought he might not even get taken in the rookie draft. I wouldn't mind Richmond looking in the rookie draft though. Worth a spot for 1 year.

Also his 4, 5, 6 was Picket, De Goey, Goddard. Thats why Laverde, Lever or Wright could slide. Depends what GWS do with pick 7. If GC take Duggan with 8. WC look at Cockatoo...hmm

Most years the field for our pick is narrowing in the media by now, that's if it is a certainty anyway, this year the fields getting bigger and bigger, hope I run into Frank at the golf tommorow :help

Surely talk of Laverde slipping to pick 12 is nothing but crap.

I'd be very surprised if Hine overlooked him, has been a fan for quite some time.

Brett Anderson talking of Richmond taking Lever at 12 & Miller at 33.

Lever is an interesting one, could potentially be a tall midfielder. I wouldn't be upset with him, going into the year he was labeled a top five pick.

is Laverde the one who is similar to Deledio or is that Lever? i get confused now lol

Laverde is closer to Deledio, I see a lot of David Mundy in Lever, reckon he could make the transition to the midfield in due course. He's an exceptionally classy footballer with above average DE and is a superb contested mark. Tank is excellent, pace only average but reads the play better than most. Failing that he could easily replace Chaplin in defence, I think the likelihood of a long career is 90%. Last year he was spoken about in the same language as Petracca, he also has outstanding leadership credentials.

Sam lansberg saying Langford big chance to pies

The is a story in the Herald Sun tonight that Kyle Langford is on the Collingwood radar at pick 5. That would really shake things up a bit.

That means Laverde will probably get taken at 4, meaning De Goey could slide.

Brett Anderson seemed pretty confident that Pickett and Goddard will be 2 of GWS's picks. Pickett @ 4. De Goey and Laverde possible both sliders?

Interesting, makes me wonder why Collingwood has gone cold on Laverde. All this means we can just ditch the Ellis talk once and for all. No way Frank overlooks the other talent on offer.

This is a facinating draft, incredibly open. GWs could even do something outside expectations with their 3rd pick, who knows. We should be sure to get a good player at 12, one suspects.
