I don't think so, I reckon he's a monty to end up at Carlton.

Thank you so much for the informed opinion on here enjoyed your knowledge, and opinion.

I really cant see FJ taking Ellis at #12 now with this latest list of 15 players coming out, He will know that he would be the only person rating Ellis that high & After the Conca risk couldnt see him doing it again - Plus i dont rate him as being worth #12 anyway and as another poster pointed out before i think that the Trengove deal was decided with Ellis potentially being available at #23 so that might of been around his ranking and possibly where the Ellis/Richmond talk has come from.

Question is (Even though i would love Nakia Cockatoo #12 - Its just not going to happen)

Lever,Laverde,Ahern,Weller,De Goey are the likely candidates at aour pick - Which do we take Laverde,Ahern are my favourites but i am coming around to Wright if available but Lever is another joker in the pack now. Always been looked at as a top 4-5 quality selection and now might be available at #12

What are the thoughts on Lever, Does he have the ability to play midfield, I would love him to be a Bontempelli type if he could

Well if that's the list of 15 then that is who FJ should also be selecting from, within reason. I really really hate it when we start getting fancy pants.

Interesting that Cocky isnt there.

It does remind of the Conca year. From memory Conca was a very last minute invitee to the draft after the AFL must have got wind of who we were selecting. Let's see if Ellis is on the place come Thursday.

The invites are only for players with a chance of being top 10.Considering Ellis has only been linked as high as our pick, which is 12, I don't think he'll get an invite even if that's who we plan to draft.

I'm pretty sure "caught wind" isn't what happened. All clubs had to tell the AFL who their top pick, or two, were and the AFL sent out the list. From memory the Conca Jungle drums started beatuing very hard about a week out. RFC Official then put us out of our misery by relasing the "Welcome to Tigerland" Conca bio a couple of days before the draft :)

A guy named Sam McClure (not familiar with him... 3AW journo?) reckons McCartin has firmed as the number 1 pick over CP now. This draft is just all over the shop

Often on the money is Sam Stylo.

Thanks WT. The implications are huge for Melbourne if true. IMO Petracca and Brayshaw will be just what the doctor ordered.

If this is true then those at the helm have played the worst hand of poker I can recall. Why on earth would they not accept picks 4 & 7? Melbourne were very tentative in their interest of McCartin, there's every chance he would have been available at 4. Secondly, Peter Wright stands every chance to have a similarly successful career as McCartin. The Saints have lost the plot, no wonder their list is the worst in the AFL.

Agree. In such an even draft they were insane to not bite that one.

Yep and straight to the doctor for poor young Petracca if he gets lumbered with Melbourne :pullhair

Makes no difference to Patracca either way,2022 he will be at tigerland as a Fa anyway

Saints should just pick Brayshaw and enjoy the next 10 years with a future captain, this has all the hallmarks of a disaster story.

Bonkers. But still reckon they will take CP.

Would take CP, AB and 2 metre Peter over McCartin.
