On the couch

Yep, took a lot of fun out of it.
Least it still has the hits and run thru

yep agreed with roos. The premise is the extent of the injury dictates the penalty. It is ludicrous, logically and philosophically. People have been saying so for years, but instead of winding it back they are ramping it up. By this logic, anybody whoever hit des tuddenham or frances bourke would have got off. Someone who set out to knock someone into next week but doesn't quite connect gets $2k fine, someone who tries to shake an opponent off but clips them in the sweet spot (cough Bachar), gets 5 weeks.

Its so completely absurd.

Ive been waiting for the plea that the intention was only to knock out a few teeth, not break the jaw.

;D

Apparently Liam Jones was just trying to get Jack to break wind.

So we have to wait until there is an injury to a player before suspending him?

So a bit like driving through a red light is OK if you don't have and accident....

Even rugby league here, they used to belt the suitcases out of each other for fun. NRL changed that by automatic sin bin and then tribunal and it instantly stopped, completely changed the culture by enforcing it.

Yep, now they do it when they're off the ground instead. ;D

:clap Exact analogy. These muppets just keep on keeping on.

I totally agree with Poosy about what Liam Jones and another 2 players did with the 'behind the ball punch'. These incidents should suspend the player instantly instead of Gill the Dill pumping up his revenue raising methods.

So much for the crackdown, this rubbish will continue still as nothing is being done about it.

The incompetence of those at AFL house has no bounds. Seriously they should do a George Costanza and just do the opposite to whatever they are thinking.

You can bet your left nut they'll crackdown when its a Tiger up on the charge

I was gonna say that i wonder how it wouldve gone if it was Tigga or say Broad that did it?

On the couch is going on a melbourne baggathon. Lyon's head is shaking a lot. Now he's joined in. Wonder what happened to the top 5 modern era midfield duo?

It's like 3 old Egobourne supporters sooking at the pub. I never see or hear any spite when they criticise that club.

Paul Roos gives a measured view on how he would handlle the Dusty situation.
Lyon then strongly challenges Roos - “I cannot believe you are taking that stance, I would sit Dusty down and give him an absolute lashing etc etc..’

Roos listens and then bang - gives him a 40 second smack-down on man-management, relationship building, getting the best out of your players, and the Art of Coaching - sits him on his arse..

A measure of the 2 men and what they have achieved right there.

Since the Tigers turned the corner Roos has been very fair in his assessment of us. Lyon is a fair dinkum twat who doesn't say anything intelligent at all - I actually hope he is the next coach of Melbourne. Then they can close the club down.

He’d be too gutless to accept it. Far easier to be in media and take potshots from the sidelines.

Had to larf when Lyon said what he'd do given he's never actually been a senior coach & Roos has coached successfully. Roos was pretty controlled when Lyon was shaking his head a lot.

Easy to have an opinion, harder to have insight and a balanced view.

Not that I like Roos all that much, but thats the difference between a pretty ordinary ex player /commentator (lyon)and an ex player/coach/mentor/commentator (Roos) who has been there, done that.

Since we got Hardwick, have heard from Patrick Smith at all

Now we know he CAN'T coach.
