What i fail to understand is how these blokes in this situation cant just sign up for one season at 50 or 60 k, unless they are ingrates they should have hundreds of thousands of dollars behind them from previous contracts.

One year on a normal persons wage wont hurt them, thus allow them to stay in the game at the club of their choosing they can then be re signed for greater $$ the following year to make up for this year.

Then again player managers wouldnt get much of a cut out of it would they.
That would make too much sense Craig

Think Inglis met with Hird but it looks like he'll head to Souths after they offload a player or 2 to fit him in the cap.
That player ends up being Beau Champion signs with Storm for 3 years & NRL have now registered Inglis's contract with Souths.

Champion can play good consistent performer, Bellamy will take him up a gear i reckon.

Cronulla was showing interest in him also.

So the Eels plan to hold out and pinch Inglis looks like its come to nothing.

l thought he would end up at Sharks but happy he's at the Storm.Good riddance to Inglis

Good outcome for the NRL.

Keep him in the game but also maintain some integrity in the salary cap (although you can't help but think it was a negotiated solution).

I hope the new Commission works as effectively as the AFL one. The NRL really needs some genuine leadership to help Gallop, who is doing a good job in difficult circumstances.

The key will be getting good people on the commission

Ex Bronco Shaun Berrigan returning to Aust from England where he is likely to play for Titans if not NZ.Pretty handy player in his day.

You will see quite a few Aussies and Kiwis coming back to nrl in next 18mths with the UK Superleague no longer the money making tax haven it was, players are gonna get slugged big tax now, which will make it a non so worthwhile exercise.

Dane Carlaw ans Matt Orford 2 others that will be back in the nrl in 2011, Carlaw already linked back to the Broncos.

Kiwi star back rower Greg Eastwood cut his contract short to return to the Doggies for 2011 where he will join Tolman, and Pritchard in a revamped Doggies backline.

Where do you think Orford will end up Craig?

Sorry MB me ol china Orford has been linked with the Raiders as a replacement play maker for Campese. Was linked with the Dogs but havent heard anything bout that for a while, if he does in fact return to the fold next year i think it will be Raiders or possibly at a stretch the Eels.

Nothing official, also possibility of Orford coming into the fold in 2012 should the Bears return alongside Chris Heighington who has been long targeted as possible skipper of The Red and Blacks.

I really hope the Bears come back, it'd be great for the Competition and the North East Sydney rivalry with Manly and the Roosters.
