NRL

Hey all good to back on the boards after some time away.

Off season special Rugby League Week out now to help ease into the coming season good read.

09 gonna be a dead set cracker.

Of most interest is the return of the prodigal son Stacey Jones from retirement for a last hurrah with the Warriors and Trent Barret to the arch enemy of his Dragons in Cronulla.

Trent will form a very good ball playing and ball running halves pairing with Brett Seymour who finally stepped out of the shadows of potential this year prior to his knee.

Will be interesting to see how the lil General comes back. No doubt a desperate push from Cleary to try and snatch the trophy with the current line up.

Maybe they can load Ruben up on Kava and talk him into another year.

Bring Back The Bears ............

Gold Coast Titans have withdrawn offer to Cam Smith, despite having other offers would think he will now stay at the Storm.

Probably why the Titans instead chasing Farah to link up with former teammates Prince & Laffranchi in 2010.Farah said to be more than interested but offered the Tigers final refusal on any offer.....Wonder when the Tigers will realise they need 1/2s (not &/or additional to Marshall) rather than play Farah everywhere but his preferred hooker/dummy half position ?

Whats your gut feel mj.Will Farah stay or go?

interesting re Farah.

Definately a #9 and a damn good one also.

Bulldogs finally getting rid of the cancer from the club that has seen a loss of the Old Canterbury Bankstown.

Reni Maitua sacked today for missing training and about time.

I wouldnt be surprised if he did it deliberately to get the arse with all his mates in Mason, Williams gone.

Dogs have changed their roster and it has definately got a better face image on paper.

Morris, Hannant, Kimmorley, and are solid citizens to join Ryan, Patten and El Magic.

Well done Canterbury.

Too early to gauge but the team's lack of finals action since 2005 & playing a different position every other game, without much help, not exactly an incentive to stay.

Credit to Canterbury/Greenberg on their stance re Maitua

Sad to say it Jubey, my gut feel is Farah will head elsewhere i reckon likely to the Gold Coast especially if Mat Rogers retires at years end.

Wests Tigers must make the finals in 09 and be entrenched in the top 8 at halfway for Farah to have anychance of staying i reckon.

Place your bets.

Reni Maitua to either the Roosters or the Bunnies i reckon.

If not he will go to the UK.

David Gallop is talking about banning him for the 2009 NRL season,he may have to head to UK otherwise I reckon he'll head to the Cowboys who chased him this year.

Good luck to whomever takes him on just another mental giant that would struggle to feed himself if he couldnt play league.

Ricky Stuart dumped as Australian coach after abusing ref & his advisor the day after the world cup final. After he shafted the Storm this year I can't say I'm upset about grumblebum losing this job.

Had no choice - was crucifed by the media over it as is the case with every bloody thing these days.

Im not a real big fan of Stciky but im starting to get sick and tired of the way the media and sterility of ball major codes has removed characters from the games with players and coaches administrators banned from speaking their minds resulting in a conglomerate of line towing roobots.

Bring back personalities, professionalism has removed this from our favourite games.

Stuart has always been a sore loser anyway. Maybe it just shows how competetive this bloke is.

Anyways was always gonna happen sooner or later re changing of the guard at the healm of the Kangas.

Not often I disagree with you Craig but I believe Stuart only has himself to blame.Physical & verbal abuse of 2 officials won't get you a gold star,it will see you leave quickly through the exit door.

Good news for Storm supporters,Cam Smith has signed on for another 4 years.

Yep , great for the storm,

We may hear more about it though,

Something a little dodgy perhaps with his deal, not that i'm complaining,

Rumor is, he is being paid 400 grand a season by the storm, all they could afford to due to salary cap pressure,

but is going to be employed somehow by foxtel to the tune of an extra 200 grand a season,

we all know Storm and foxtel are both owned by news ltd, ;)

how long before we hear some whinging out of Sydney.

agree.
reporting something isn`t being crucified.
high profile sportsmen and women will get media coverage when they do good things, and likewise they will get coverage when they stuff up.
if you`re happy to take all the publicity and newspaper inches when you`ve won a game or premiership or whatever then don`t go whingeing when you`re in the news when you also stuff up.
it`s like eddie mcguire gloating that collingwood is the most popular club,we sell newspapers blah blah blah, taking all the plaudits when collingwood are winning, but then whingeing about too much coverage when his players stuff up.

stuart is the coach of the national team who got physical and verbally abusive to the referees,of course that`s going to be reported,if you don`t like the media coverage then don`t take a high profile job, simple.

the prick should have been a-holed the minute he lost the world cup anyway, the refs were spot on in every decision that night and the kiwis won fairly and squarely.
good riddance to the wanker.
