NRL

Slater and Smith fantastic for Storm Last night.

The Dogs Roosters clash was overhyped with no fireworks from what i saw ist half anyway. NRL has sanitised the game same way as AFL is sanitised so when there is a build up like this the fans end up dissapointed, same as Origin now has lost its menace and mayhem.

In last nights games Sharks beat Dragons,Titans beat Raiders & the Cowboys returned to form with an impressive win against the Eels.

I thought the Storm made a big statement Fri night............. they are back,

And just when the northern league media were starting to wet their pants at the thought of the Storm not being a threat this year.

So they try & undermine the Storm with the "chicken wing" tackle.

Interesting re the Blair report for the KFC tackle on Ennis, looked a bit sus with Ennis quick recovery and wink to team mate.

Depending on tonight am looking at 8 from 8 this week ;D

Steve Folkes has quit as Bulldogs coach & will finish up at season's end.He was a dead man walking anyway but should pick up another coaching job in the next year or 2.

Initially thought this may signal the end of the Bullfrog era at Belmore but seems Folkes' brother in-law,the Tadpole, the early frontrunner for the job next year..

Far closer to my heart , the link to the traditional Tiger heartland is fraying . Surely this can't be allowed to happen ?

NRL Tigers far worse than RFC in being turned over 32-8 by a depleted Penrith that had no bench in the 2nd 1/2.

Farrah still a big loss mj,Wests had plenty of ball in the 2nd half but just couldn't score.

No surprise there the writing was on the wall and always better to walk than be shoved.

A premiership coach but hasnt seemed to move with the changing game.

Interesting to see Peter Wallace has born the fruits early of his move to the Broncs with early favourtism to wear the #7 for NSW come origin.

Qld have plenty of concerns when it comes to getting a fit and firing squad up and running with recent form of Myles and Webb pleasing, but the likes of Thurston, Bowen, LOckyer, Crocker, Price all suffering injuries will put the pressure on Maroons selectors over the next month.

Robbie Farah should not be selected at #7 for NSW he ideally should be on the bench to relieve Buderus or as an emergency halve.

Forget SOO,any position . Farah, with his chronic back complaint,is flat out just trying to get on the field for the Tigers.May need to consider wearing a girdle (an old wives remedy from way back) to be able to play.....Rep football,as much as he deserves the recognition, would compound his/Tigers problem....Not encouraging anytime, let alone inside the 1st month of the season.

Tadpole (K Moore) continues to firm as Folkes replacement next year at Belmore.Said to be a popular candidate but can't help thinking were his 'old man' still running the joint,Canterbury would have had a Bennett/Bellamy locked in ages ago, such were his 'powers of persuasion', similar to GR at the RFC in days gone by..

Storm

Parramatta

Dragons

Roosters

Raiders

Warriors

Knights

Sharkies
agree with all except Dragons & Knights.Already got the Eels wrong tonight

Storm,Titans,Cowboys & Roosters come away with wins this weekend.Roosters & Storm look to be top 4 sides, still not convinced about Titans but they may scrape into the 8.Dragons look gone.

Big wrap for Billy Slater , from one of the best players ever,

Andrew Johns, said Billy, is probably the best player in the game right now, during friday nights commentary,

A huge wrap from a respected judge.

Lets see the selectors try and ignore him this year.

Should be the no 1 for Aust & QLD.
