NRL

True there Sneezy have outdone themselves so far but Bunnies are back to their vintage worst at the minute, Tigers are struggling and missing there injured forwards in O Hara and Gibbs not to mention Benji. Friday night will be huge.

There has been a cancer in the playing roster and ive named em before, Mason, Maitua, Utai and Tonga, these blokes have done what theyve liked over past few years and have been the cause of some player unrest within the playing group.

Utai and Maitua should be given the arse and follow Mason out the door, the Dogs will be better for it.

Workers with heart and spirit like Cleal, Danny Williams, Hickey and Armit have done very good job so far. Williams will be a star and the inclusion of Micky Sullivan will be a boom for the Dogs he is twice the player Hughes is and should have the #9 jersey from the kick off.

Not the fearsome Dogs pack of the last decade but ann honest unit which are having a rip which ids good to see.

Williams, El Magic, Patten and Ryan leading the kids well.

The next 2 years should see a transformation of the Canterbury club back towards the professional family club of years past one would hope.

In theory players should be restricted from negotiating contacts with other clubs during the season. Unfortunately if the NRL restricts players being able to sign with other clubs during the year, it further exposes players to raids from England and rugby. While it may be possible to involve the English competition in restrictions, I'm sure rugby would take as full advantage of restrictions as possible.

Wouldn't be surprised if Bellamy is granted a release at season's end & Steve Kearney to take over the Storm next year.Neil Henry granted an early releaase from Raiders to coach Cowboys next year.Total lack of loyalty by Henry.

If its true that Henry is leaving the Raiders tha is a damn shame.

Todd Carney stated playing under Henry was a major reason for him staying.

Very dissapointing indeed.

Nice post Craig. They look a far happier crew there now led by those 4 players. Even the coach is smiling lately.

How good has the General been? He's like a vintage wine........ just keeps on getting keener and craftier each year.

I was a bit surprised to see Willie Tonga listed among the baddies. Always liked him as a player and he seems to be finally getting back to form after the bad injuries he had.

Best news of all........ Wayne Bennett to coach Dragons 2009-11.

MB64 is on the money I reckon. Bellamy bros to Broncos and Kearney for Storm.

I'm not against Henry leaving the Raiders. Five years from the Cowboys is too good an offer for them to stand in his way. Furner is like the prodigal son in Canberra.......... both as a player and clubman.......... as well as being the son of the godfather there Don.

Matt Elliot will be next if the Panthers dont win a few more over the next few weeks there is already a putsch to get rid of him.

Folkesy too still hanging by a thread however the move of Bennett to the Dragons has momentarily eased the squeeze for the next fortnight at least.

Feel sorry for Brownie but i always thought the guy had gone into coaching his own club too soon after retiring, is asking too much for seasoned team mates like Timmins, Barret, Thompson, Gasnier, etc at the time to play under a former team mate, favourite son or not.

Willie Tonga to leave Dogs and go to Nth Queensland should become news today.

The player / coach roundabout keeps on a turning.

Will perform better in Townsville and probably his best bet to regain his form that saw him recieve a Maroon jersey.

Ok while we are on movements of players and coaches hows this for desertion.

Bulldogs - Tonga to Cowboys.

Raiders - Costigan likely to go to Gold Coast states was going to stay if Henry stayed , now players are pissed hes going.

Penrith - Luke Rooney likely to go to Dragons

- Frank Pritchard also wants out likely targets - Canterbury, Cronulla or Warriors

- Luke Lewis - Linked to Souths

- Luke Priddis - also to leave

- Puletua already told club hes off to Superleague

- Gower walking out last year along with Wallace released

The Panthers are stuffed and a club in turmoil, somthing really off going on in Penrith.

Geez there aint no loyalty in the NRL thats for sure.

Good post Craig, more to come I reckon.Gower to doggies mid season,Bellamy to Broncos 2009 or 2010?Another Storm tavkling technique under the miocroscope tonight where they pin the player's arm.not a good look & Storm would be best served offloading their wrestling coach.

Sydney media are just sweating on the Storm failing MB and they wikll scrutinise and nit pick every Storm tactic.

They wont be happy till the Storm fail.

Bellamy is swearing black and blue with every interview it seems, that he will honour his contract with the storm and be here for 2009,

So, if he is a man of his word, and, if Brisbane are that keen on him like the rumors suggest , they will have to get themselves a care taker coach for a season,

Not ideal for them really,

If Brisbane come out and announce they have a coach for one season, we will know exactly where Bellamy is heading.

Interesting times ahead.

Fasten your seatbelts for tonight's blockbuster. Sonny Bill v Big Willie is the main event, plus some great prelim bouts as well.

Bobcat Ryano v Nate.
The General v Minnie the Moocher.
New Roosters tag team in action.......... Skull Murphy(Ogre) and Brute Bernard(Fitzy).

:blowingup :smash :bash :boxing :upside :stopwar

Good return to form by the Storm last night with a 28-8 victory over the undefeated Broncos.Best the Storm have played this season but its fair to say they aren't going to be as good as last year.
