Do we bite the bullet now through necessity and develop Balta as our next mobile CHB? Not sure of his intercept marking but understand that a key plank to our game plan is attacking from defence. If not Balta then who, as Garthwaite looks more of an Astbury type?
Watching the VFL game on Thursday night before the mishap, I remarked to a fellow poster here how thin we are for KPD in the twos. Marsh was an ideal addition to the squad until listed by St Kilda. Don't think Miller is a long term prospect unless they can teach him to compete in the air rather than hanging back to crumb. If Garthwaite gets promoted then our key position defenders will most likely be VFL listed players like Beasley and Coffield.

played 40 games for 2 clubs and kicked 45 goals.
Happy to go out on a limb and bet that Balta atleast triples Keays games and Goals

Shame to see him dropped but his contribution was modest last week and we looked top-heavy against the blues, let alone a team of runners that we will face the Pies. I think it is partly horses for courses.

back to VFL to learn some more defensive structures and craft, its called development & I reckon its a great move.
