Noah Balta - Welcome to Tigerland

Bulking up nicely through the arms and shoulders on today’s training photos. The lad will be an absolute tank in a couple more years!

Come on big fella, time to step up and smash it.

If he delivers what he promises we will have not only Lynch and Jack blowing up the forward line.

In the video on the RFC site Balta says that he has been training in the forward group this preseason having spent the last year with the defenders.

He might be our first swingman in years

Pinch hit Ruck forward is the plan for Noah id say considering hes been training with the forwards and the rucks.

I know we are all extremely excited about Balta but we really need to temper our expectations a bit about Noah

The 'Kid' yes Kid as he has just turned 19 and has a lot of development left to go before being AFL ready

What he shows at VFL level and his physical maturity has us all extremely excited,He still has alot to work on mainly with his tank and ability to remain in the contest
And we should not expect him to make much impact for atleast another 1-2 years

But once he does get all the things he has in place and breaks through i have no doubt we will have something very very special to look fowards to Post Jack Riewoldt

A view that the more cautious of us are taking. Noah has potential but needs nurturing for a while yet

He is a ripper.

When I watch him play there are two players that he reminds me of at the same early stage of their career: Richo and Rance

Might be the bolter for round 1 in Lynch's absence & likely Grigg's. Did some very good things when rucking today. Couple of eye popping second efforts at ground level.

Agree, but I have a feeling he'll be gaining quite a bit of experience in the 1s this year.

Hope your right Too, reckon he was steal in that draft.

Really hope so

I just have this vision of Balta playing the Grigg role and see so much benefit

Backman kicking in reaching the wing where a player like Balta will be so valuable with his marking and run as well as monster kick
Giving that extra tall option up foward when clubs just dont have the ability to defend that tall wingman that drifts foward
Ruck relief for Nank

He would be the perfect proto type relief ruckman

Lid edging off? Even with Lynch, I think the rule changes (solely aimed at curbing our dominance btw) may necessitate another tall. Chol, Balta and Soldo all appear to be in the mix.

Noticed when training was done and it was time to pull out the textas, he and CCJ walked over to the small crowd on the punt Rd side of the ground and started signing and selfing all the way around the ground, when caesar and I left he was last man standing , kudos to Syd ah Knee too he was out signing and selfing for quite some time

Agreed. Think we have seen the end of Grigg as the second ruck option. Balta is the proto type and the future.

There is a clip on todays game on the RFC website

Balta is really exciting
Soldo looking like a beast foward and even does a around the corner snap

Chol , There is a passage of play where you just think -WOW
If Chol could just improve his tank and get more aggressive his athleticism is amazing

What a tease

But Balta is the Man
