Noah Balta - Welcome to Tigerland

Rance did have some bad games early on.
Alot thought he wouldn't make it.
Biggest turnaround I have seen in a player.

Doesn't seem like a smart post in hindsight....

Post was spot on. Rance was unco and prone to brain fades for years. Spent more time on the ground than on his feet. Credits his turnaround to Leppa”s first stint at the club coaching the backline

Agree....Rance was awful early on.
Game in Darwin he was terrible, slipping constantly.
Fabulous turn around and massive credit to RFC.
He is now a super player and will be AA captain again. Am certain other football fans recognise him as such.

On Balta, he has similarities to Rance in his playing style .
He will be a beast and I am very optimistic he will be a gun key back or maybe a chance up forward.

I have no doubt that Balta will eventually become a foward, He is a natural foward and thats where he played junior's

He might spend 2-3 years learning his craft and the defensive side of things but will eventually replace Jack as a KPF

I am sure that Balta has some real potential but we have to remember he is a green kid just making his way in professional footy and has much to learn. VFL is the perfect grounding for him but it is a big step up to AFL and may take a bit of time. However from what I have read and seen there is no doubt he will make it

What's the update on this kid?
Had the one good game but been quiet since

Looked like a fish out of water last night. Cost us 2 goals via turnovers in the 3rd turned the game. Looks a mile off.

SURPRISE! SURPRISE!, an 18 year old 1st year unbridled Colt. Supporters should be mature enough to let our young kids develop before bagging so early.

All our new talls are a mile off which you would expect.

Spot on, only need to look at Weitering to understand that junior talls are like yo-yos with form & development. The first point is Balta is not a backman, has never played there apart from a handful of games at state level and one All-Stars match. If he's being trialed there it's because the club wants to give him a decent apprenticeship in the hope he becomes a genuine swingman. I personally see him as our next CHF, hopefully with Lynch as our other KPF.

So he made some decision making errors, big deal, this is to be expected.

Hope so Bullus. God knows we need another mobile tall marking forward. Today a perfect example of how many forward entries we get for so little return. Townsend and Jack getting battered

Find it funny.
Has 1 good game is labeled the second coming.
Struggles in a few and he stinks.

Can't we just wait and see

You new to PRE?

Youngvtalls are going to be inconsistent. It's normal. Let him learn his caper, I have little doubt he will be come a valuable player, how valuable is what we'll find out over time.

It's an interesting point because on one hand Jack averages 1 contested mark per half of football (with George, Dusty, Caddy, Towner, Higgins, Butler our next best goal kickers - no KPPs), while on the other hand we're already 1st or 2nd in the comp for marks I50, converting I50's to scores, and highest cumulative score.

In short, we have the best attack in the comp with only 1 KPP who takes 1 contested mark per half of football.

Maybe we shouldn't change the way we play?

Balta's athletic profile looks more consistent with Rance's from our current winning formula. But our needs could change in 3-4 years.
