After watching the replay all you can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

This player has all the real tiger traits.

Hunts the ball
Stalks the player with the ball
Aggression in spades
Attacks marking contests
Closing speed is breathtaking.
Kicks the ball out of sight.
Kicks on both sides

Best big man prospect since we drafted Rance.

you paint a very pretty picture yandbatron

yeah, I saw him coming through the centre and kicking nicely on his left and I thought 'oh, he's a left footer'.

then most of his other kicks were on his right and I realised he's a right footer.

Anyone have a tissue and a cigarette?

The kid's pure. If you look at how he kicks, marks, jumps, runs - absolutely pure and effortless.

People are comparing him to Rance but he I still like Alex is now. Smooth moving, athletic, good (great) kick, magnificent hands. Rance at the same age was not like this. He was the unbroken colt with potential. Young Noah could be anything. Rance 2.0

Noah Balta (23 disposals, six marks, eight rebound-50s, three inside-50s, seven handball-receives

Not just flashy either. Those are serious stats for a KPD, least of all in his first game of official senior footy.

I get this feeling that there will be a lot of club's regretting their decision not to pick this kid.
Obviously a lot can still happen , however what was the knock on him and how did he slide to 25 ?

Can't quite remember, but I thought he might not have been that interested in football or something along those lines. Pretty sure he was one of those guys who doesn't watch any footy in his spare time. Concerns that maybe he wouldn't apply himself?

He didn't look like a guy who isn't interested in footy considering how he sang the song after the R1 VFL win though.

His played it beautifully getting to the premiers then

I like the fact his already showing a full game not just glimpses and leaving us with nothing much more then hope.

Oh yes he was, Alex Rance was already making his mark. Didn't play a game for the Tigers in his first year but 2nd year he was already averaging 14 disposals a game before that terrible head clash which really put him back a bit for quite a while. It was when he came back from that he appeared to have lost his confidence and was quite shaky with his disposal. Balta is definitely heading down a similar path. Personally I hope he can make it a s a key forward. He has the size to create real issues for opposition teams.

Balta very vocal at training and very responsive to coaches and the likes of Rance and Astbury. Spunky character traits a bit like Reiwoldt I reckon.

The word i liked from Fly's VFL post match presser was that Balta's improvement has been"DRAMATIC"

Plenty still to learn, but from Fly's comments sounds like he is a very good student :clap

The Mole is exactly right. 18-20 year old Alex Rance didn't fill us with much confidence at all.

Spot on, played footy because he was good at not because he loved it.

Reckon we might end up with 2 of the top 5 of that draft

Did for me, I remember the time well, first time I saw him and his first few games were fantastic for a 19yo at AFL level. As I said, after he got that sickening head hit, it stuffed the confidence out of him and that's when doubts about his ability crept in on forums.

Dunno if it was his confidence that was the issue early on, it was his skills and awareness. Rance jokes about Hardwick trying to sell him for a 6 pack early on. Clearly the club weren't all that hopeful either.

Rance 2008 from Wiki:

He played his first match at VFL level in mid April, before spending another month in development. When he returned in mid-May he became a regular selection, gathering 35 disposals and five tackles in a mid-June match
