Noah Balta - Welcome to Tigerland

And then there’s talk of Rance returning.

Which, I might add, I was confident would happen one day as soon as he left.

Imagine Rance, Balta and Grimes in the same backline?

RFC would be $1.01 for the 2021 flag as soon as markets opened.

Just need Roach at FF or even Jeffrey Hogg marking and kicking straight and we would be very, very ,very hard to beat.

Most impressive thing about his game against Wc was his marking. Calling it now, this kid is already a better overhead mark than Rance ever was. Which is remarkable considering my biggest knock on him was that he didnt seem to be a one grabber kind of Kpp. Couldnt remember a single time last year he was able to mark it as cleanly as he did on Thursday.

Give his development coaches a hefty payrise as his transformation has been truly staggering from last season. Could be anything.

Reckon they'll be just happy to keep their jobs sadly. Hope Leppa is extremely contented @ Tigerland!

That is a good point. last year he struggled to 1 grad anything. i remember watching him warm up before one game, and he continually double grabbed any high ball. very different story now.

Balta's development since the pre-season game against the Filth in Wangaratta is off the charts. I was calling for him to be tried on the wing. His composure and reading of the play has improved out of sight.
Kudos go to himself and the coaching and development staff.

Spot on early 1996; round 3 maybe. I was there and I was spewing at that free against Richo. As it turned out it cost a spot in the finals.
Yep, Round 4 1996 at VFL Park. We lost by a point, then the next week we lost by 3 points at Geelong after Chris Naish missed a set shot after the siren.Very tough couple of weeks.
How exciting is Noah? He is so fast and strong, his booming kicks and strong marks are a delight to see. Long may it continue!

The marking is great. He’s got vice like hands.

The case of Notorius, from a recruiting POV, was like spotting Octagonal at a yearling sale, thinking 'jeez that horse has a superb conformation and is going to really fast and tough'

Noah had hands like Stewie Lowe as a junior, and breathtaking athletiscim and dare, with a huge hoof.

so its not surprising what we are seeing unfold.

our recruiters over the passed decade could be the best there ever was?

We overlooked him twice in the draft. Got lucky in the end

maybe? there wouldn't be a club that wouldnt trade their <25 selection from '17 for Notorius I dont reckon.

possible exceptions of Tim Kelly and Oscar Allen and Aaron Naughton and maybe Cam Raynor you'de think about it for 10 minutes?

2017, what a year

Pick 26 for Botlon
Pick 25 for Balta

Call it luck, call it whatever but it’s those sort of draft choices that ensures you keep your premiership window open for longer.

That Naish game was the last time I went to Kardinia park. Does anyone know if they still have the baked potato van? They were good.
