Conca's not well built enough and his hands aren't clean enough to be the good inside mid we're looking for. The clean hands part especially. Would rate him below average in that area. This is before we get to his kicking.

Vlastuin has a better chance but needs a serious improvement to his running ability.
It's not a choice between them imo, both could play there.

Conca is well built enough to play inside mid, he has a big frame and is strong despite the fatty myths that perpetuate.

Gotta play Vlastuin in the guts for the remainder of the season.
He is adding a big-bodied presence to the midfield and some grunt around the clearances.

Could be a future captain, in my very humble opinion.
Just love his attitude, courage and desire for the contest.
Give him the opportunity to act on his natural instincts, rather than plugging holes down back, and I am sure we will see a player start to blossom and fulfil his promise and potential.
Can be a leader if he is given the opportunity to play more significant roles in the heat of the contest.

Looks strong and maybe could drop some size to add some dance to his game , will get fitter quickly if left in midfield.

Liked his driving last kick. Reckon he learnt from that mistake against collingwood

Vlaustin, Martin and Miles are a tough trio. Also our best hope in a crisis. (Cotch to the forward line.)

At last Dimmer. Stick with it.

He is and always was the strong body we need in there.

Amazing that Dimma went with a D grade mid in Townsend rather than get a big body with composure and skill.

Never understood how our midfield would benefit from playing ordinary players there.

Well I would think the idea was that Townsend would be a diamond in the rough like Miles. Not to be which comes back to our talent identification, its ok to be making mistakes like that with rookie players but not those who you get for teh senior list.

The test will come this week when Cotchin is back.

It's a no brainer. Vlastuin needs to stay in the middle.

No coincidence that Miles has had 2 great games off the back of this move.

Townsend did star in the VFL on the weekend, and it well known that it is harder to play well in the VFL than the AFL.

Imagine what he could do with the better delivery and support he'd get in the seniors

Loved his work in the middle in short bursts only. I would like Dimma to play him off half back at least for this season. He has the poise and foot skills to help our back line.

I had a mate who told me that Floss started in the middle for us when he first played. I said I couldn't remember it and thought he made it up. Sure enough this post confirms it.

BTW I'm loving the move into the middle. Hard, smart no fuss player who will now impact more contests.

Glad to see Dimma took my advice. ;D

But now it's time he permanently moves into the middle.
