With the conditions his marking was really good.

The conditions meant that people with real football skills had the advantage over those that just follow "Game plans" that only work in perfect footy conditions, so it was only natural that someone like Vlastuin who can read the play did well (along with Deledio).

He is now being allowed to play football instead of trying to follow whatever bizarre instructions he - and the rest of the team - were given earlier in the season that now seem to have been jettisoned, and the difference is there for all to see.

Richmonds Greatest Love Machine looked like a midfielder stuck on a HBF last night.

Jeez I hope he goes in the guts against Norf and dishes out some pain to zeibel, cuntington and Co.

Another controversial theory is that he was out of form early in the season, was dropped, and is now returning to his usual form.

So disappointed we've pulled the pin on his midfield development in search of immediate wins.

Could be such a large piece of our missing midfield puzzle that we aren't exploring.

Think I saw him at one centre bounce. It's just so typical conservative Dimma.

And the experiment was working, he was looking good.

Absolutely no reason why he can't spend his game time 40/60 on ball and defence.

Agree. Nick, Dusty, Cotch, and Miles can match it with norths contested mids. We lost last years ef because of batchelor on waite decision and because we lost the conested ball in the middle as miles and cotch had to go it alone (and cotch got the hard tag). In effect miles was on his own.

As long as Vlastuin maintains his attitude and focus he will play well for the Tigers anywhere he is positioned on the field. That said, more time in the midfield is something, like others, I would prefer to see happen more often.
With a bit of luck, some continued development and a release from the shackles of the backline more often than not I have a sense Vlastuin could be a very pivotal and important player indeed.

I believe that only happened b/c Hammer thought Zaharakis was one of ours on Sat night and kept tapping to him. Its been well documented that Hunt did a good job. However, this Friday I'm confident that Vlaus will spend a fair bit of time in the middle

Perfect opportunity to develop further depth in our midfield rotations by continuing to play Nick in the guts. Strange that he has been moved back to the HBF.
