Nick Vlastuin

Using the selection criteria for Morris and others this guy gets a regular game for the next 30 years

Get your hand off it jack, he was one of our few effective players tonight.

He got a hiding the other way, brother.

Seventeen plus excuses.

And my hand is defiant!

Hardwick has NO idea. What a blonk. We absolutely need to leave Vlaustin in the guts and see if he can become a midfielder.
love the blonk call. Old School!

Vastly improved.

Good to see him in the midfield.
But for how long will Hardwick play him there?

My guess he will be back pocket next week when Cotchin returns.

Hardwick has his Cotchin protector looking at him but he is too blind to see it. Forget about plodders like Townsend and Moore. Vlaustin is the one that needs to line up next next to Cotchin and Miles in the centre square.

Liked him in the middle. Can hit those packs hard. He and miles could do some damage.

Gives him a chance given most of your calls (the ones that are decipherable anyway)

Ease off the Captain! Easily the most entertaining poster on PRE in my humble opinion.

Could we use Grimes to replace Morris and Rance to replace Kamdyn, thereby release Vlas and Kamdyn back to the midfield?

Much prefer Castagna down back to Morris.

Agree, most readable etc but IMO his prophecies on football more often than not are wrong. But always an enjoyable read.

If DIMMA puts him back to defence next week
We will all spew up :duh :duh :duh

Nothing surer Joe. Bet he starts and plays the majority of his game in the back half and maybe two or three center bounces..

With Grimes and Rance coming back next week you would hope that we could go with a back 6 that doesn't require Vlastuin to play permanent back. I don't mind him in the middle and playing as a more defensive midfielder although he can kick a goal as well.

I have always liked him as a potential midfielder because he has the frame to play inside.

i think Nicks story at Richmond is symptomatic of how the coaches/club can get things wrong. He comes to the club as an elite junior midfielder - its his position, its where he plays. Now i don't know if Fridays game was his first in the midfield? but he looked the goods - funny that! Then afterwards you get the Hardwick quotes - "we've always sort of wanted to give him the opportunity to play midfield..." and "one of those experiments that will take time..." etc. Makes you wanna pull your hair out.

Reminds me of Wallace and Deledio. In 2007 I think. He'd been played down back and up forward then Wallace played him on the ball and we got smashed.

Wallace then whines how everyone was saying Lids should be played on the ball and when he (Wallace) finally does play him on the ball we ( and Lids) get smashed.

No, he didn't come as a elite midfielder. He was a back flanker who had runs on the ball. Never a big ball winner. Never a great runner.

It's the case of Richmond trying to yet again, manufacture midfielders instead of taking them.

Friday was a great sign, there is a skill set to work with but it's a long way to go before he is a midfielder.
