Feel for this kid. Unfortunately i can see him being torched by our illustrious leader as he desperately hangs on to his job. Should never have played last night after being concussed and a short turn around. Shows how desperate Dimma is getting when he has to rush back a 2nd year player as he is one of our best.

He was a shadow of his normal composed good decision maker self last night. No coincidence he was concussed 6 days earlier. Staggered really that the doctor allowed him to play given the stance on concussion these days.

Agreed

Yep, thought he played like a concussed player last night. Wasn't right and made some uncharacteristically bad decisions.

Only player last night (along with Morris) who showed us what its like to don the Richmond jumper. A leader in the making. Just shows the way.

I thought he had a bad game myself.

Made some very stupid decisions and disposal was ordinary.

Wasn't alone but he played tough.

Agree. I like him but he was ordinary last night. Some of the disposal decisions he made you would have thought he had concussion. Oh, that's right......................

Can someone please tell me why Flossy hasn't had one stint in the midfield this year?

He was thrown in their numerous times last year with success and this was as a first year player.

He said before the start of the season that he'll play 100% in the backline at the moment but was hoping for a couple of minutes in the midfield. Said he thinks he has to work on his tank more to be able to run with the elite midfielders, hopefully over the next pre-season or two.

Should not of played but when you have nothing in VFL not much you can do.

You play any fit player before a player who is suffering the the effects of conscussion. Just a very dumb and potentially damaging decision to play him this week.

What a lot of trot.....

At the end of the day - the club doctor, medical staff, Coach and player himself would have concluded that he was fit and capable to play.

At his age (and recovery level) the excuses and mamby pamby attitude being bandied around are frankly - SOFT!

He did not have a great game - so be it.

Either we respect (indeed reward) courage in a contact sport - or we can go and support SOCCER!

Well done Flossy.

Stand up when so many others continually fail.

P.S. If we had lost - and he had not played - we'd all be screaming at him for shirking.

That's all well and good, Sir. Yet in this day and age the issue of concussion deserves far more meaningful consideration than that based merely on a player's courage.
Passing tests etc does not necessarily mean that the brain isn't still recuperating from the trauma inflicted through conscussion.
Given his age, Vlastuin should have been rested this week and, as it turns out, his contribution wouldn't have been much different that what turned out to be on Friday night.

lol, love all the qualified doctors here making pseudo advice on nothing. I watched the replay and Vlaustin was actually quite good overall. Lots of aggression at the ball. He made a couple of silly mistakes but to say it was because of concussion is just silly. If that was the case then I am sure almost all had concussion against Collingwood.

Are you sure? I thought that Chaplin and TV must have been in a coma over the preseason.

Rapidly becoming one of my favourite Tigers.

Go Nick.

I agree. I trust him to do the right things on the football field. I just want to see more of him further up the ground.
