Re: A positive - Vlastuin?

I dont remember Bucklety getting as many inside hardball gets in his career as Flossy has in 6 games.

To me the closest comparison I have to a first year player is Joel Sellwood.

Does everything well , a footballer more than an athlete, looked comfortable from day 1, leader.

Flag coming our way in his first, 3rd and 5th years? ;D

Re: A positive - Vlastuin?

I guess its not only me, but gee I love it when the ball is in Vlossy's hands. You just know that the ball will not be given up and the simple pass/give off will be made to look sublimely easy. In years to come, he will be a cross between Joel Selwood and Jobe Watson, patrolling and running the midfield with Dusty.

Very good times ahead.

Re: A positive - Vlastuin?

Can people please stop comparing him to Selwood? I hate that pr!ck. As I've said before, Vlossy doesn't appeal for freekicks, duck his head at every bloody contest and whinge, whinge and whinge more. Can't stand him honestly.

Re: A positive - Vlastuin?

To me Floss is Floss and he has his own brand of "Big Head Footy" that will endear him to the mature and discerning tiger supporters whilst Cotch, Jack and Ellis will be the young fan favourites.

Football myth in action right there.

Agree. Don't let the colours blind you, Buckley was a superstar of the game.
Maybe but Vlastuin will be better

He's got Cotch Martin lids Axle Conca Ellis around him too
The magnificent seven

Re: A positive - Vlastuin?

Vlastuin will be better than even Cotchin. Big call, but is so hard at the ball and so skilled that after just six games, looks likely to me.

Re: A positive - Vlastuin?

Deleted after post inebriation assessment.

Cotchin is getting tagged hard though - and he needs help from the other mids.

Having said that, I believe that Cotchin seems to play better with a big midfielder like Tuck around him.

Wait till Cotch learns to break the tag and gets some free rein - he will dominate.

Re: A positive - Vlastuin?

I love this kid.

I wanted Martin in 2009, Cotch in 2007 and wasn't convinced with Floss last year but *smile* me I think he will just about become better than those 2 including Lids. Future captain.

It ain't the grog making me think this either.

Re: A positive - Vlastuin?

Future leader of this club. Will have to wait but it will be worth it.

That's the downside of Sellwood but leaving that aside he is a very fine footballer who has played in 3 premiership and at a very high level from the day he started.

If Sellwood played for Richmond he would be a big favourite but because he plays for another club we hate him !!

No, not at all. I respect other gun midfielders who don't carry on like a pork chop on the footy field. I respect and think Pendlebury, Swan, Ablett, Kennedy, Dangerfield, Mitchell, Judd are all better players then Selwood and don't do the ducking, whinging and playing for freekicks that he does.

Has nothing to do with who he plays for...if he didn't do the things I think he does I would respect him as a gun footballer, nothing more nothing less.

:hihi I can see this thread is already taking on mythical proportions. If Floss finishes runner up in the B&F, polls 14 Brownlow votes and wins the Rising Star Award, then maybe we can talk about him in the same breath as Buckley. Until then, I suggest we tone down the superlatives.
