Cant have Vloss and Conca in the backline. Looks like they have backed Conca to play that role which is dumb. Move Conca back to the midfield and Vloss to the backline. A no brainer really but Hardwick has no idea.

why cant Conca and Vlastuin play in the backline together?

agree with the general consensus. Vlaustin is a backmen or nothing.

His value as a footballer has diminished quite a bit this season due to the limitations now revealed.

Yep, move him back. His best football has been there. He's not a Luke Hodge but he's still a handy player.

What's been wrong with Concas form this year ?

Never said anything wrong with Concas form. They play the same role in the backline and we need players with some dash and kicking skills running out of there. These two are brave and work hard but their delivery and speed are very questionable. Can't have two of them plodding around. Would rather Markov or similar running out of backline.

I understand what your saying, I think you can play both in the back half though, I think Conca does give drive out of the back half ,I also think Vlaustins disposal is very good and he plays more tall then Conca, though similar in stature Conca plays more on smalls. Defiantly like to add more speed and skill coming out of the back half and that includes our wingers, but as I've babbled on about for ages, we don't have a lot of that type and the ones we have just haven't come on as quick as hoped

Another very disappointing high draft pick.

Most annoying thing is, that we could of predicted what we were going to get when we drafted him. A good solid foot solider who was never going to be a star. Doesn't have any x-factor but super reliable.

Looking at his stats, the most disappointing thing is that his numbers haven't shown any improvement since year 1 (it's his 5th season now). In fact it's arguable his best season was his debut season, and has simply plateaued since. Another indictment on our development team.

His possession numbers have actually dropped despite spending more time on the ball. Yes am aware he's had some injuries so this is slightly skewed but he sure has trouble getting to the footy first.

Not far off becoming a whipping boy similar to Bellis. Vlaustin, Bellis, Lennon, Cellis and Vickery fist round draft choices wow oh wow!

Add conca to the list and it makes for even more depressing reading.

we were the vocal majority dasha.

oh well. you play the cards your dealt.

But my 13 yo son, who produces an almost constant stream of AFL hypotheticals, asked me last night

"if you could have any player at Richmond this year, right now who would it be?"

"in the actual context of our current season/predicament?"

"yeah, its, like, real. Actual"

"Grundy" I go.

I've been critical of Nick for a long time. I think he's escaped criticism because he's hard at it and a bit of a fan favourite. You'd be hard pressed to say he's improved since his debut season. If anything he's gone backwards.

Doesn't win enough ball, isn't an elite lockdown player and hasn't got a damaging kick.
